The Milu thermo mug made a very good impression in our test. The product has an attractive, flawless design and is made of stainless steel and BPA-free plastic. The thermo mugs are available in different sizes. You can choose between a capacity of 370 ml or 450 ml. In our test, the mugs were absolutely leak-proof, even when tipped over and shaken, no liquid leaked out. Opening and closing the lid is very easy thanks to the so-called “One Click” closure. The Milu thermo mugs were delivered together with other products in a single shipping box. The shipping carton was compact and the individual products had little room to move around. The thermo mug was shrink-wrapped in a transparent plastic film. The film provides additional protection against soiling and damage during transport. As the product packaging is sufficiently robust, we believe that the film could have been dispensed with. Overall, the set is well protected in the packaging and, apart from the film around the cups, there is no unnecessary packaging material.
The cup packaging is partially recyclable. Unfortunately, the plastic film is not recyclable, but the Amazon cardboard box is.

ℹ️ Before we start the practical test, we take a close look at the product processing. How high quality are the materials used? Is the look and feel satisfactory?

The Milu thermo mugs make a very good visual impression and have no manufacturing defects.
The thermo mugs are available in different sizes. You can choose between a filling quantity of 370 mlor 450 ml . The sizes of the mugs also differ accordingly. The thermal mug with a capacity of 370 ml is 17 cm high without the lid. With the lid, the total height is 20 cm. The thermo mug with a larger filling volume is 3 cm higher and therefore has a total height of 23 cm. The lid of both thermo mugs is 3 cm high. The lids are black with a coloured rubber strip. This coloured strip is exactly the same colour as the colour of the mugs. Just over 1/3 of the outside is covered in rubber. This coating is not only attractive to look at, but also keeps the hands at a pleasant temperature, regardless of whether the outside of the cup is hot or cold. Various coffee words are printed on the coloured rubber, such as: Coffee, Espresso, Milk etc., are embossed on the coloured rubber. There is a wide range of 10 different colours, so there is something to suit every taste. The thermo mug is made of high-quality stainless steel, which is free from harmful substances and is odourless and tasteless. Another advantage is the mug’s low weight of just 325/360 grams and the sturdy, high-quality finish.
The cleaning brush supplied consists of two individual parts that can be put together with a little pressure. The height of the brush is ideal for cleaning the base of the cup. This avoids the problem of hands being too wide to clean the entire cup.

For the test, we filled the thermo mugs with boiling water in the morning. Even after our test phase of approx. 9 hours, the filled liquid was still very warm and hardly lost any temperature. The outside was neither hot nor cold and was therefore comfortable to hold. In our test, the cups were absolutely leak-proof, even when tipped over and shaken, no liquid leaked out. Opening and closing the lid is very easy thanks to the so-called “One Click” closure. All you have to do is press the button in the centre of the lid. If the button is pressed down, the lid is open and the drink can be consumed. If, on the other hand, the button is at the top, the lid is closed and sealed. This difference is clearly visible.
The lid can be disassembled into two parts for cleaning. To take the lid apart, turn the inner lid to the right. After cleaning, the lid is reassembled in the opposite direction. To make this easier, the opening/closing direction is engraved on the lid. The lid can also be cleaned in the dishwasher. The cup itself is not dishwasher-safe. Due to the material used, cleaning in the dishwasher is not possible, as is the case with other thermal containers. The thermo mug should be stored with the lid open when not in use.
