The aerator from Rosenfeld made a very good impression in the test. The product makes it easy to save water, which not only saves resources but is also easy on the wallet.
The flow rate of the tap is reduced from the usual 10-12 litres per minute to 5-6 litres per minute. Of course, this usual flow rate always depends individually on the pressure of the pipes and other circumstances.
There is no loss of comfort as the water is enriched with air, which makes it easier to use.
It is installed by screwing in the thread on a standard tap and, thanks to its design, blends in unobtrusively with the tap.
The aerator also has a filter feature, which prevents dirt from the pipe from reaching the user’s hands.
Furthermore, there are no unpolished edges or manufacturing defects on the product.
Advantages
✅No loss of comfort during use
✅helps against calcification
✅Water-saving
✅Family-run German company
Disadvantages
❌Unfortunately no telephone customer hotline
The first impression
The packaging and labelling
ℹ️ Here we take a closer look at packaging. Sustainability is becoming an increasingly important factor. Of course, adequate protection of the product must also be ensured.

Sustainability Packaging | Article was packed compactly – but plastic packaging was used | 75 points |
Product labelling | Labelling available | 100 points |
Miscellaneous | High-quality packaging, also suitable as a gift | 100 points |
Total | 94 points |

The aerator from Rosenfeld arrived for our test in the typical shipping box, so it was easy to open by removing the adhesive strip and was delivered undamaged.
There were two aerators in the box and a QR code was printed on the packaging, which referred to Rosenfeld’s Amazon shop. On this Amazon page, it was possible to follow the installation of the product.
Unfortunately, plastic was used in the packaging of the aerators, but the product protection is complete in this case and the parcel even withstood the rough handling of the postal workers, so that the aerators were in perfect condition. For this reason, the packaging is not completely recyclable.
The first impression is very good, as neither the product nor the packaging used was damaged.
After unpacking
Package contents and instructions
ℹ️ Most people’s first impression after unpacking is immediately memorable. Are the contents of the pack complete and does the manufacturer make it as easy as possible for me to use the product straight away?
Criterion | Remark | Score achieved* |
---|---|---|
Package contents & scope | Set of 2 aerators including seals | 100 points |
Instructions for use | Installation is explained clearly on the Amazon page using pictograms – an enclosed installation guide would have been nice | 90 points |
Contact information | Can be found on the box and in the operating instructions – unfortunately no customer hotline given | 90 points |
Total | 93 points |
*The maximum score is 100 points
After unpacking, there were six items on the kitchen table: the aerators, the brass rings for installation and the rubber seals.
Particularly noteworthy is the instruction manual, which clearly explains the installation of the aerators to the customer using pictograms. The installation and use of the aerator is straightforward.
Unfortunately, we were unable to find a telephone number on the packaging or in the instructions for use.
All in all, however, this is a very good way to dispatch a product.

The aerator from Rosenfeld makes a very good visual impression in the test. In addition to its simple design, it has no manufacturing faults. The aerator is made of high-quality V2A stainless steel and can therefore be installed on any tap that has the standard silver colour.
The product impresses with its good weight and sturdy workmanship. The customer is supplied with two high-quality aerators, which can serve the customer well.
Unfortunately, there is no information about sustainability on the Amazon product page or on the packaging. Due to the high-quality materials used, we assume a long service life.
This is what our practical test showed
Does the manufacturer keep its advertising promises?
ℹ️ Our practical test is the most relevant and therefore the most important. Here, the product has to undergo a wide range of criteria and tests. We check the functions and product promises of the test article.
Criterion | Remark | Score achieved* |
---|---|---|
Installation | Easy installation, even by a layperson – thanks to easy-to-understand pictograms on the Amazon page | 100 points |
Optics/ Design | Simple design and attractive appearance – fits into any bathroom | 100 points |
Water-saving | Promise of 5-6 litres per minute is kept – pleasant sparkling water effect | 100 points |
Total | 100 points |
*The maximum score is 100 points
We really enjoyed using the aerator from Rosenfeld during the test. Installation is child’s play and can be carried out by any layman.
As the aerators are a solid colour, the customer can use the aerator in almost any tapthat has an M24 thread. This thread is particularly widespread in Germany and therefore offers customers the option of modernising all standard taps to save water.
We have also investigated the manufacturer’s claims of a water flow of 5-6 litres per minute.
Due to the high pressure and without the aerator, our tap currently has a water flow rate of around 19-20 litres per minute (around 3 seconds until 1 litre has flowed through).
After installing the aerator, we noticed that our tap reached one litre of water after 10.3 seconds, which brings us to an extrapolation of around 5.8 litres per minute. As a user, you don’t really notice this difference, as a lot of air is also added to the water jet, which creates a pleasant feeling.
Price/performance ratio
and ratings from consumers
ℹ️ Finally, we look at how the product compares to the competition. Can it keep up with the competition in terms of price and quality? Would we generally recommend buying it? We also analyse consumer reviews and check whether the critical and positive reviews are actually justified.
Criterion | Remark | Score achieved* |
---|---|---|
Price / performance ratio | Good price-performance ratio | 85 points |
Rating cut | 4.3 out of 5.0 stars on Amazon | 65 points |
Total | 75 points |
*The maximum score is 100 points
On the Amazon platform, consumers have given the product an average rating of 4.3 stars. One criticism is that the aerator only saves a small amount of water (1.5 litres instead of the previous 1.7 litres). Many customers like the fact that the dimensions fit standard taps and the materials used are of very high quality. We were also able to confirm these points in our practical test, but we find the water-saving effect more than impressive, as our tap now saves around 60 % water instead of 20 litres and we also have to point out in the review that how much water you save with a faucet aerator also has a lot to do with the pressure of the water pipe used.
Prices of up to €21.99 are charged on the Internet for equivalent products. Very inexpensive products are available for as little as € 3.99. With a price of € 11.99, the aerator from Rosenfeld is therefore in the middle price segment in our test. The price ratio is good for the quality and scope of services you get.
