Product description of the manufacturer
The induction protection mat from ALLITERATIVE is a flexible cover for induction hobs designed to provide both protection and additional safety. It is made of a silicone-reinforced glass fibre material, measures 35 x 25 cm and is supplied as a set with two additional round mats (Ø 24 cm). The mat is heat-resistant up to 250 °C, non-slip and has an integrated colour change indicator to warn of hot cooking zones. The manufacturer emphasises the protective function against scratches, the easy cleaning and the universal fit for most induction hobs. The mat is also said to be visually appealing and space-saving to store.
Our test examined whether the mat fulfils these requirements in everyday use – particularly in terms of workmanship, handling and safety. This revealed several advantages, but also minor limitations, such as the ability to slide on pots and pans or use in the dishwasher.
All in all, the mat is a useful accessory for protecting modern hobs.
Advantages
- Effective protection against scratches and grease splashes
- Innovative colour change as a heat warning
- Good workmanship, durable and robust
- Universal fit for most hobs
- Dishwasher-safe and easy to clean
Disadvantages
- Not suitable for ceramic hobs
- Surface slightly sticky – pot no longer slides

Packaging and contents
Here we take a closer look at packaging. Sustainability is becoming an increasingly important factor. In addition, adequate protection of the product must of course also be guaranteed. Are the contents of the packaging complete and does the manufacturer make it as easy as possible for me to use the product straight away?

The ALLITERATIVE induction mats are supplied in simple, compact film packaging. This protects the product sufficiently well from dust and dirt – there were no scratches or other transport damage on our sample. However, the packaging is made entirely of plastic, which could be improved from a sustainability perspective – a paper sleeve would make more ecological sense. The set contains three protective mats: Two round mats (24 cm each) and one rectangular mat (25 x 35 cm), which can be rolled out flat. Printed instructions for use are not included, instead there is a simple instruction leaflet with the most important safety instructions. Handling is largely self-explanatory.
Overall, the delivery makes a functional, practical impression. Despite minor criticisms of the packaging, the contents are complete, the presentation is clear and the product appears to be of high quality.

At first glance, the simple, elegant design of the black mats catches the eye – ideal for the typically dark-coloured induction hobs. The matt surfaces blend in unobtrusively and have a high-quality appearance. The workmanship is flawless throughout: no sharp edges, no fraying, no visible production defects.
The material combination of silicone and glass fibre feels stable. Despite its flexibility, the mat is robust and keeps its shape – important for daily use with hot pots and pans. The special heat indicator technology (colour change when hot) is functionally integrated and also provides a modern touch.
The manufacturer does not comment further on sustainability. However, the quality gives the impression that the mats are very durable – a plus point in terms of resource consumption. Thanks to the high-quality workmanship, no material fatigue or visual wear is recognisable even after several uses.
Overall, the feel is convincing, the look modern and the product quality very solid – a high-quality first impression that also stands up to everyday use.

The practical test quickly shows that the mat delivers what it promises – with some minor limitations. Although the surface is non-slip, it sticks so strongly that pans no longer slide but have to be lifted. For some users, this may be a safety advantage – it prevents unintentional sliding – but for others it is a disadvantage in terms of convenience when cooking.
The heat resistance is impressive: the mat retains its shape up to around 240 °C, which is usually sufficient in practice. The colour change function is a positive feature: The mat changes to a lighter colour when hot and thus reliably warns of a hot surface – a clever feature, especially with children in the household.
Cleaning is easy: the surface can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth. For heavier soiling, the mat can also be put in the dishwasher – but it takes up a lot of space there as its flexibility means it folds over easily.
The product offers excellent scratch protection: even when using heavy pots and pans, no damage or marks were visible on the hob. The finish also remained stable and visually flawless after several uses.
According to the manufacturer, the set fits on around 95 % of all standard induction hobs. During our test, we were able to confirm this assessment for Bosch, AEG and Siemens appliances. The rectangular mat and the round mats could be positioned variably here. Important: The product is expressly not suitable for ceramic or gas hobs – there is a risk of fire here.
Overall, the manufacturer’s advertising promises were confirmed. The product is well thought out and functional.
