The Alpensattel 3.0 Comfort+ is a very comfortable bike saddle. It makes long cycle tours easier, so that no pain or numbness occurs even on tours lasting several hours. The seat surface is very large and also cushions deep potholes comfortably, so that even gravel roads or country lanes are passable. You can easily fit the seat yourself with the help of two large brackets including marking strips that are accurate to the millimetre. However, a permanently sporty riding position is only possible to a limited extent, so that use on a mountain bike is only recommended to a limited extent.

The bicycle saddle is delivered in a sturdy and sufficiently large cardboard box. The saddle is packed in a sealable bag with bubble wrap to ensure that the product is adequately protected. Instructions for use are not included, but are not necessary for the saddle. Not too much plastic film is used for the packaging, so that the packaging looks comparatively minimalist. The workmanship of the bicycle saddle from Alpensattel is flawless and of very high quality. There are no visible seams, remnants or production defects. There are also no visible sharp edges or danger spots that could lead to problems if the bike is handled unskilfully. The seat is also seamless and has no protruding areas. A consistently smooth and clean surface can be seen across the entire seat surface. The saddle adapts during the ride but returns to its original shape. It can also be fitted independently and easily using the two black brackets that are standard on bicycle saddles.

In the practical test, the Alpine saddle was put to the test on a 60 km long, varied cycle tour through forests and mountains. Fitting was easy, and nothing had to be tightened or readjusted during the entire ride. Right from the start, there was a noticeable difference compared to another bike saddle, especially in terms of comfort. The seat surface is also larger than average, so that a comfortable riding position could be adopted at all times. The bike saddle absorbed potholes or ruts with ease, so that they were sometimes not even noticed. A sporty position can be adopted for short periods of time. However, it is not suitable for longer sporty rides, such as on a mountain bike or racing bike.

On the Amazon platform, consumers rate the product with an average of 4.1 stars. In some cases, the fact that it is perceived as too light is criticised. On the other hand, the comfort and functional design as well as the wide seat are positively emphasised. In our practical test, we were able to confirm that the comfort and functional design were well received by customers. However, consumer criticism of the comfort of the bike saddle was not justified.
Prices of up to €84.90 are charged on the Internet for equivalent products. Very affordable products are available from as little as €29.99 . The bicycle saddle from Alpensattel is therefore currently in the middle price segment with a price of €49.99. For the quality and performance received, the price-performance ratio is very good.
