The ATHELON® drinks crate rack is supplied in a flat package measuring 100 cm x 40 cm x 8 cm. The robust cardboard box is well protected against pressure and impact damage thanks to additional cardboard corner protectors, foil wrapping of the individual elements and reinforcing polystyrene blocks. Although the delivery is very compact, the foil and polystyrene could also be replaced by more sustainable materials.
The box contains 2 side elements, 4 connecting rods and a bottle opener, each with matching screws. In addition, clear illustrated assembly instructions in German and an Allen key are included, although the product is basically self-explanatory to use and assemble.

The shelf is made of solid, high-quality metal. It measures 104 cm x 32 cm x 82 cm and is relatively heavy at just under 10 kg, ensuring a high level of stability. This is underlined by the robust and large screws, which, according to the manufacturer, enable the shelf to easily withstand loads of up to 120 kg on each of the two levels. For comparison: a crate of beer usually weighs 15-20 kg.
The minimalist, modern and elegant design is visually appealing. All components are free from scratches or manufacturing defects and have a subtle, matt black color.
The manufacturer does not provide any information regarding the sustainability of the product, but a long service life can be assumed due to the high-quality materials. Overall, the ATHELON® drinks shelf makes a very good impression and will now be put to the test in practice.

The ATHELON® drinks crate shelf shows its full potential in practical tests. The elegant design fits into any room – whether garage, hallway, kitchen or living room – which also makes it flexible to use thanks to the rubber floor protection pads supplied.
Assembly was child’s play thanks to the assembly instructions provided and was completed by one person in just a few minutes. Even people with little manual skill can do almost nothing wrong here. The only criticism that can be made is when screwing on the bottle opener on the right-hand side of the shelf: The screws were a little sluggish and are not to be tightened with the supplied Allen key but with a standard screwdriver. A note on the packaging might be desirable.
In terms of stability and load-bearing capacity, however, the drinks crate rack is completely convincing. The solid metal construction can easily withstand any load from a person weighing 80 kg – an impressive result.
The test indicates that the materials are of high quality, which means that the product is likely to have a long service life.
The shelf offers space for up to 6 crates in a vertical arrangement or 4 crates in a horizontal arrangement. This guarantees space-saving storage even for unusually shaped crates, as long as they have a minimum length of approx. 30 cm on at least one side.
