The foldable camping toilet from Athelon® is characterised by its very simple assembly and disassembly, which can be completed in just a few seconds. It is very space-saving during transport. When unfolded, however, it impresses with its pleasantly large seat and high stability. A load of approx. 120 kg was easily withstood for several minutes without any deformation or damage. The seat height is also comfortable. You don’t have to bend over too much, so the chair is also suitable for children or older people. On the negative side, the foldable camping toilet does not have an integrated toilet roll holder. In addition, the bin liner must be held firmly when removing the anti-slip device, otherwise it will immediately slip out of the lid and the contents of the bin liner will leak out.

When unpacking the box, the foldable camping toilet immediately catches the eye. In addition to the toilet, sufficient compostable bio-waste bags and a small roll of toilet paper are included. A silicone urinal is also included, which is easy to wash and disinfect. Plastic packaging has been avoided as far as possible. No damage was found on any of the products. Assembly and disassembly is self-explanatory and requires no instructions.

The design and appearance is simple and elegant in black. The dark colour makes it less noticeable during outdoor and camping activities, for example. In addition, the foldable camping toilet is compact and space-saving despite the pleasantly large seat. The workmanship of the plastic parts and support legs is satisfactory and has no manufacturing faults. When fully unfolded, the legs engage indirectly. No force is required to fold up the camping toilet. This is done with a smooth movement. The waste bags supplied are compostable and can therefore be disposed of in nature or in the organic waste bin, making the product sustainable and environmentally friendly.

In the practical test, the stability was tested with a maximum load of 120 kg. When the test person sat down with a weight of 85 kg, no deformations, noises or a feeling of instability could be perceived. The weight was gradually increased to 120 kg using weights. It was noticeable that the camping toilet was under more weight. However, at no time did we notice that the camping toilet collapsed or broke. Assembly and disassembly only takes a few seconds and can be carried out with minimal effort. The load-bearing capacity of the seats is excellent at all times thanks to the even weight distribution due to the pleasantly large surface area. Even after several test runs, in which approx. 5 litres of water were filled and emptied and the camping toilet was dismantled and reassembled, the folding mechanisms functioned without any problems. No increased effort was required at any time. Cleaning is easy thanks to the non-porous and very smooth plastic surface, making the foldable camping toilet from Athelon® a faithful companion for many camping trips.
