Whether in a home gym under weight benches, in a study under an office chair, or in a children’s room as a play mat, the product is designed to be universally applicable. The foam used is advertised as particularly robust, shock-absorbing, and non-slip. In addition, the plug-in system can be individually adapted and expanded at any time.
The advantages include easy handling, high stability, and the ability to combine the mats as desired. The modular design is a plus: with 18 individual segments measuring 31 x 31 cm, the surface can be adapted exactly to the size of the room.
One disadvantage we noticed was a slight chemical smell after unpacking.
Overall, CLP aims to impress with a solid, attractively priced, and durable product that is designed to show its strengths in both fitness and residential areas.

The CLP floor protection mats arrive neatly and compactly packaged. The packaging is simple but functional: a sturdy cardboard box that protects the mats well. Unnecessary plastic packaging has been largely avoided – a plus point in terms of sustainability. Only a thin protective film prevents the mats from sliding around in the box during transport.
As promised by the manufacturer, the package contains a total of 18 puzzle pieces and 36 edge pieces, so that in most cases the surface can be neatly sealed.
There are no printed instructions included, but they are not needed: the plug-in system is self-explanatory and intuitive. However, if you would like instructions, you can find simple assembly and care tips online.
The manufacturer has therefore made a good first impression. CLP delivers a product that makes a reliable impression right from the moment you unpack it.

After unpacking the CLP floor protection mats, the clean workmanship is striking. The edges are evenly finished. We cannot find any sharp edges or unclean transitions. The foam feels pleasantly grippy and conveys stability without seeming too hard. The mats can be easily compressed but reliably return to their original shape – a sign of good material quality.
The visual appearance is impressive: the slightly textured surface looks both modern and functional. The deep matte black fits in with almost any environment and makes minor dirt inconspicuous. In direct comparison to other models, it is also noticeable that CLP has opted for discreet branding – this gives the mats a professional look.
There is still room for improvement in terms of sustainability. Although CLP obviously uses a high-quality material, which speaks for a long service life of the product and thus for a certain degree of sustainability, at the time of testing, further information on the manufacturing and transport process of the product, which we consider desirable, was lacking.
Overall, however, the initial impression is of a robust, durable, and well-designed product that fulfills its intended purpose perfectly.

During testing, the CLP floor protection mats had to prove themselves in several disciplines, and the results are impressive.
The mats demonstrated excellent adhesion on various surfaces such as tiles, laminate, and PVC. Even with intense movement or under heavy equipment, they remained reliably in place. The slightly textured surface contributes significantly to this secure footing.
When used under heavy equipment, there were hardly any visible marks. Even point loads did not cause cracks or pressure marks. Only with very heavy weights were slight impressions visible, but these largely disappeared over time.
The only criticism in our practical test was a minimal chemical odor that was noticeable immediately after unpacking. After about a day, this had largely dissipated. After that, the mats were odorless. We assume that this is due to production-related processes.
The mats’ modular puzzle system is impressively simple. The mats fit together securely and can be cut to size with a cutter if necessary, for example if the mat size does not fit in a particular room. The edge pieces supplied also ensure a clean finish.
Sweat, dust, or shoe abrasion can be easily removed with a damp cloth and mild detergent. The material is water-repellent and easy to care for.
The CLP floor protection mats impressed us almost completely in our practical test and deliver strong performance in everyday use. They are durable, easy to clean, pleasant to the touch, and offer reliable protection for all floors.
