In our test, the cable lug range from Beartool made a very good impression overall. The set consists of a sorting case and an assortment of 36 different types of cable lugs. The Beartool set was completely convincing in the practical test. The cable lugs can be crimped very quickly and easily. The cable lugs hold well in the relevant areas and, depending on the type, also provide electrical insulation. Beartool also offers other sizes and crimping pliers to match this range.

The cable lug range from Beartool arrived in the typical Amazon box. The box was undamaged and the zipper made it easy to open without any additional tools. Inside the box, the range of cable lugs was wrapped in a plastic film. The product protection was complete in this case and the cable lug assortment was therefore in perfect condition. Overall, the components of the set are excellently protected from damage during transportation thanks to the very extensive packaging. Unfortunately, this results in a lot of waste, which is why, in our opinion, the plastic film around the sorting case could have been dispensed with. On the whole, the Beartool cable lug range makes a very good impression.

The set consists of the cable lugs and a sorting case, which contains 36 different types of cable lugs. According to the manufacturer, the set contains a total of 580 pieces, whereby the number of cable lugs of the different types differs. The cable lugs are sensibly organized in the sorting case. Unfortunately, one type of cable lug, the M5 fork, is missing completely. On a positive note, a random check of the quantities revealed that all parts were present in the specified quantity. The customer receives a comprehensive set thanks to the many different sizes of cable lugs and types. There are no instructions for use, which would have been desirable. However, there is a QR code on the inside that takes the customer to clear instructions for use. Contact information can be found on the inside of the storage box and in the instructions for use. The sorting case is made of transparent plastic. The upper part functions as a lid and has a label printed on both sides. On the outside, in addition to the key data and contact details, there is also a list of the contents. There is also an assignment of the individual sizes to the respective compartment in the lower part of the box on the outside. There are also two buckles on the lid, which can be used to open and close the lid.
The lower part of the box is divided into 36 individual compartments in which the cable lugs are sorted. Overall, the sorting case is sufficiently sturdy, well made and very practical.
The cable lugs are made of plastic on the outside and metal on the inside. The plastic surface is matt and the metal is shiny. The cable lugs are stable and can hardly be deformed by hand. The workmanship is good. The cable lugs are available in various designs. These are M4, M5, M6 and M8 ring cable lugs, round receptacles, butt connectors, round plugs, branching sleeves, M4, M5, M6 forks and flat plugs with associated fully and partially insulated plug sleeves.
The designs are available for three different cable cross-section ranges between 0.5 mm² and 6 mm². The cable cross-section ranges are marked by the colors and can therefore be distinguished at first glance.

First, we test the crimping of the ring cable lugs with different cable cross-sections. First, the cable in question must be stripped to such an extent that the exposed wires pass through the metal eyelet of the cable lug. The cable lug can then be fitted and the cable placed in the corresponding receptacle of the pliers. The result is also impressive. The cable lugs are firmly connected to the cables and can no longer be pulled off. The plastic sleeve covers the transition between the metal ring and the cable insulation, giving it a high-quality look. Next, we test the butt connectors and plugs. When crimping, there are no differences to the ring cable lugs. These are also easy to crimp and hold well. However, the plastic sleeve fulfills an additional function here, namely that of insulation. With the exception of the semi-insulated blade terminals, the plastic sleeve covers all metal parts. This means that butt connectors and plug connections are perfectly insulated when plugged in. The plugs themselves fit well into their respective counterparts and hold firmly in place. The plug connections can also be easily disconnected again.
