The Carpet Diem dust control mat made a very good impression in our test. In addition to good water absorption, the product also offers a secure grip on the floor. This means that the doormat is highly likely to remain in place despite various environmental influences. What’s more, the dirt-trapping mat is only slightly high and is particularly pleasant and soft to use. In terms of its features, it is very suitable for indoor and covered outdoor areas.
Another plus point of the dust control mat is that it is available in 10 different colours and five different sizes. The product is an EU production, i.e. it is manufactured in the European Union with high quality standards.

The Carpet Diem dust control mat arrived in a typical shipping box. The box was undamaged and well sealed with adhesive tape. Inside the box was the rolled-up doormat. We found it very good that no additional plastic packaging was used for sustainable reasons. Excess storage space was filled with paper. The product labelling was affixed to the front of the dust control mat with a sticker. Care labelling was printed on the enclosed instructions for use.
In this case, the product protection was complete and the doormat was therefore in perfect condition.
The packaging of the doormat is completely recyclable.

The dust control mat was easy to remove from the box and roll up. The product immediately remained straight without any major ripples. Information about the material composition can be found on a label attached to the top of the dust control mat. The top side of the product is made of the comparatively environmentally friendly plastic polypropylene. The bendable underside is made of the plastic vinyl.

The doormat lies flat on the floor very quickly after being rolled out and there is no noticeable unpleasant odour.
The edges are distinctive and the transition between the two fabrics is neatly finished.
It is also noticeable that the doormat is very thin overall, as the “stubble” on the top is not particularly high. This makes it easier to clean the mat with a hoover, as the dirt cannot become too deeply embedded in the surface. As the doormat as a whole is also very easy to bend, it can also be cleaned by hand in the shower or bath when wet. The manufacturer advises against cleaning in the washing machine in its instructions for use, as the edges could be damaged by the rough treatment in the machine.
The feel of the outer material is robust yet still pleasantly soft.

The Carpet Diem dust control mat moulds itself completely to the floor from the outset and the mat lies smoothly on its base.
The grip on the floor is reliable.
A striking feature is the pleasantly soft surface when wiping off shoes. Nevertheless, dirt is thoroughly removed and water is well absorbed.
If the mat gets too dirty, it can be completely cleaned again by vacuuming or even washing in the shower or bath. This property has a positive effect on sustainability.
Overall, the doormat is very robust and, thanks to its low height, also very versatile in use. It can be used both indoors and in sheltered outdoor areas.
