The children’s tent (tipi) from the manufacturer Dwiper receives a very good rating in our practical test.
The product impresses with its very good workmanship, high material quality, quick and easy assembly as well as a lovely and child-friendly design. In our practical test, the small details in particular, such as the decorations supplied(fairy lights, fabric moon) and the quality and design of the fabric (40% linen, 60% cotton) proved to be an enormous enhancement to the product.
The only points of criticism in our test were the lack of a storage bag and the rather poor print quality of the instructions for use. Nevertheless, the tested children’s tent is a clear recommendation for every household with small children – whether as an adventure tent or as a cozy retreat for audio games and stories.

Packaging and contents
ℹ️ Here we take a closer look at packaging. Sustainability is becoming an increasingly important factor. In addition, adequate protection of the product must of course also be guaranteed. Are the contents of the packaging complete and does the manufacturer make it as easy as possible for me to use the product straight away?
Criterion | Remark | Score achieved* |
---|---|---|
Product protection | Carton is sturdy, product sufficiently protected | 100 points |
Sustainability Packaging | Compact product packaging, use of plastic film for product protection | 90 points |
Package contents & scope | complete, unfortunately no batteries included | 100 points |
Instructions for use | In German, in poor print quality | 80 points |
Total | 93 points |

After unpacking, the individual parts of the product can be found on the table. The scope of delivery includes eight wooden poles, four plastic connecting links, four rubber feet, a tent fabric, a blanket for the floor as well as a string of lights and a fabric moon to enhance the look of the tent.
The scope of delivery is complete, although batteries for the fairy lights would be desirable .
The product box provides adequate protection for the contents.
For the most part, the manufacturer has dispensed with unnecessary and non-recyclable packaging waste; only the plastic film around the fabric moon is probably difficult to replace for reasons of product protection.
Although the supplied instructions for use are written in German, they are difficult to read due to the very poor print quality. This remains the only relevant point of criticism.

Product processing and appearance
ℹ️ Before we start the practical test, we take a close look at the workmanship of the products. How high quality are the materials used? Are the look and feel satisfactory?
Criterion | Remark | Score achieved* |
---|---|---|
Visual appearance | appealing design | 100 points |
Processing | Very good workmanship, no recognizable faults | 100 points |
Stability | Robust and stable materials | 100 points |
Sustainability of the product | no information from the manufacturer, durable materials | 70 points |
Total | 93 points |
*The maximum score is 100 points
On closer inspection of the individual parts, the product is convincing in almost all areas. The fabrics of the tent and blanket look suitable for children, and the other components also look appealing.
All parts also look well made, so that no loose threads or sharp points stick out. In addition, the poles and connectors are stable (in terms of their intended use) and the fabric is robust and hard-wearing.
The only thing the manufacturer could improve on is sustainability, as no information is provided here. However, due to the high-quality workmanship, the robust design and the materials used, it can be assumed that the product will be used for a long time.
This is what our practical test showed
Does the manufacturer keep its advertising promises?
ℹ️ Our practical test has the highest relevance and therefore weighting. Here, the product has to undergo a wide range of criteria and tests. We check the functions and product promises of the test article.

Stability | Robust in the sense of the intended use | 100 points |
Material quality | comfortable fabric, durable | 100 points |
Product design | Child-friendly and appealing design | 100 points |
Transportation | Space-saving, transport bag or similar would be desirable. | 90 points |

Despite the poor print quality of the instructions for use, setting up the Dwiper children’s tent in our practical test was quick and easy, as the product is virtually self-explanatory.
Two poles are put together using a connecting piece and fed through one of the four flaps in the tent fabric. At the top end, the tent fabric can be attached to the poles with two fabric threads. Another screw can then be used to fix the angle of the poles to each other. All in all, it takes about 15 minutes to set up the tent for the first time.
The construction of the tent makes it robust for its intended purpose. Of course, neither the poles nor the fabric should be subjected to excessive weight. We are impressed by the quality and workmanship of the tent components, as promised by the manufacturer. The fabric (40% linen, 60% cotton) not only has a child-friendly look, but is also very pleasant to the touch.
In terms of product design, we are once again completely convinced. The product has two pockets on the outside for storing toys and books, as well as a small window and fastening straps for the fabric on the entrance side, which is separated in the middle. The manufacturer also supplies a fabric moon with attached stars and a light chain with star-shaped lights. In our set-up, we attached the moon to the top of the tent and the fairy lights along the entrance side. This significantly enhances the look of the product.
The tipi can also be used in a variety of ways and is an adventure playground during the day, for example, while it can be used as a cozy retreat for radio plays and stories in the late afternoon/evening as darkness falls.
Unfortunately, transporting the tent is not quite so easy. Although the product can be pushed together in a few simple steps to save space , a bag or at least a rope to hold the poles together would still be desirable. Even if you only take it down for a short time to make space for other toys in the children’s room, this would improve the comfort considerably. Overall, however, the children’s tent made a very good impression in our practical test. This is also confirmed by the teddy bear included in this practical test, who – as the pictures show – felt very comfortable in his illuminated accommodation.
Price/performance ratio
and ratings from consumers
ℹ️ Finally, we examine how the product compares to the competition. Can it keep up with the competition in terms of price and quality? Would we generally recommend buying it? We also look at the consumer reviews and check whether the critical and positive reviews are actually justified.
Criterion | Remark | Score achieved* |
---|---|---|
Price / performance ratio | Very good performance in the mid-price segment | 80 points |
Rating cut | No rating | – |
Total | 80 points |
*The maximum score is 100 points
On the Amazon platform, consumers rate the product with an average of 5 stars. However, as too few reviews have been submitted so far, this is not included in our rating.
Prices of up to €99.90 are charged on the Internet for equivalent products. Very inexpensive products are available from as little as €29.95. With a price of €59.95, the Dwiper children’s tent (teepee) is therefore currently in the middle price segment. The price-performance ratio isreasonable for the quality and performance received.
