The glass lid is slightly heavier than a plastic lid. The lid is easy to close so that the contents are protected from the smells of other foods.
However, the lid is slightly more difficult to open. This can be avoided by opening the lid at a slight angle. The precise fit of the lid prevents the jar from slipping or being opened accidentally.
The glass lid is dishwasher-safe. The bamboo base, on the other hand, should only be washed by hand. With regular cleaning, the bamboo does not absorb any odors.
