The height-adjustable D06 desk from StandXT made a very good impression overall during our test. The desk has a 150 cm long and 75 cm deep tabletop, which sits on an electrically height-adjustable frame. We measured a minimum height of 63 cm and a maximum height of 129 cm. The desk impressed us in our test with its excellent workmanship, high stability and very good usability. The control unit can not only be used to save two desk heights via speed dial buttons and charge cell phones with 18 W , but also to control the LED strip on the underside of the desk, which bathes the desk corner in an unusual light. Unfortunately, the packaging material was handled very generously, resulting in a lot of waste. However, the table is very well protected during transportation.

We have looked at and tested the product in detail in a practical test. In the following, we take a closer look at the features and impressions. The product is subjected to our test procedure from the packaging, materials and quality to the range of functions and handling.

The height-adjustable desk D06 from StandXT was delivered in two separate boxes by a forwarding agent. The smaller box contains the table frame, the larger one the table top. In both cases, the box serves both as a shipping box and as product packaging. The boxes are labeled and include an illustration of the contents. Both boxes arrived sturdy, compact and undamaged. The boxes are sealed with parcel tape and can only be opened with scissors or a knife. The smaller box is additionally sealed with plastic strapping, which can also be pushed aside.
The table frame in the smaller box consists of several individual parts that are wrapped in polystyrene. The appropriately shaped polystyrene parts fill the box almost completely. This makes the box very sturdy and the metal parts are well protected. Unfortunately, this also results in a large amount of packaging material. Some metal parts are also wrapped in transparent cling film or bubble wrap, which provides additional protection. From our point of view, however, cardboard and polystyrene are more than sufficient and the film could have been omitted for reasons of sustainability. The electronic components and the screws for assembly are in a separate box, which is located on the edge of the box between the polystyrene parts. These are also packed in plastic, although in some cases resealable zip bags were used. This is useful to prevent the screws from rolling around individually and damaging other parts. However, this does not apply to the power cables and the power supply unit.
The tabletop in the large box is also surrounded all around with polystyrene. This protects the tabletop very well from damage during transportation . In contrast to the table frame, no plastic film was used for the tabletop. Apart from the table top and the polystyrene, there are no other items in the large cardboard box.
Overall, the product packaging ensures excellent product protection thanks to the generous use of suitable packaging material. Unfortunately, this is at the expense of sustainability.

The table frame is supplied in individual parts to fit into the compact box. The frame consists of twelve parts, whereby the two table legs with integrated motor are already assembled. There is also a power supply unit, a control unit with integrated operating unit and an LED strip. Connecting cables, cable holders, fixing screws and blanking plugs are also included. The tool required for installation, a combination of Allen key and Phillips screwdriver, is also included in the set. The table frame is supplied without accessories.
Two operating instructions are included with the table frame: One for setting up the table and one for operating the control unit. The operating instructions are multi-page, easy to understand and written in German. The individual steps in the assembly instructions are also illustrated. Safety instructions for the table and the electrical system are also included. The operating instructions for the control unit are also illustrated so that the individual buttons can be quickly assigned to their function.
The contact details can be found on the packaging, in the assembly instructions and on the side of the table frame. They include the company name, address and a website address. A telephone number and a contact form can be found on the website. For people without Internet access, we would have liked the telephone number to be included in the scope of delivery, e.g. on the assembly instructions. For our test, we were provided with the D06 desk with a white frame and white table top. The all-white design makes the desk look simple and elegant and matches most interiors. Only the control unit and the associated operating unit are black. The table top is made of coated wood and has rounded corners. The edges of the table legs are also slightly rounded, creating a harmonious overall design.
The frame of the desk is made of lacquered metal. The individual parts are firmly connected to each other with screws and form a stable base for the desk. The core elements of the frame are the two solid, height-adjustable table legs, which are located on the left and right of the table top. The motor and gearbox for the height adjustment are concealed inside the legs. At the lower end of each leg is an extension arm, which is screwed to the center of the table leg. There is a plastic foot at both ends of the extension arm. The height of the feet can be adjusted using a thread so that the table top can be aligned exactly horizontally even if the floor is slightly uneven.
At the top end, the two table legs are connected by cross struts. The length of the cross struts can be varied so that the distance between the table legs can be individually adjusted. This allows the table frame to be adapted to table tops of different sizes. The power supply is concealed between the cross struts. In addition, there is a bracket on each table leg that runs parallel to the bracket with the feet. The table top is screwed onto these.
At the front of the table, the control unit is screwed under the tabletop so that only the control unit is visible. The position of the control unit can be freely selected during installation. The LED strip is also fitted here, although it does not extend over the entire length of the tabletop. It should be noted that the LED strip must be fitted either behind or next to the control unit, as both are attached to the underside of the table. We decided to mount it next to the control unit.
The control unit has a small LCD display and six control buttons. The buttons and the display are surrounded by an illuminated frame that corresponds to the LED light . The height can be controlled manually using the buttons. In addition, two buttons can each be assigned a specific height, which is automatically approached when pressed. The other two buttons are used for confirmation and free programming of the control and for lighting. There is also a USB-A and a USB-C charging socket with 18 W fast charging function on the control unit.
The LED strip consists of individually addressable, colored LEDs with silicone coating in protection class IP65. It is controlled via the control unit, which enables the display of different colors and animations.
Overall, the table makes a very high-quality impression. The table is stable and does not wobble. The workmanship is flawless, all the parts supplied fit together perfectly and hold together firmly. This gives the desk stability and resilience. The manufacturer states a load capacity of up to 100 kg. The good quality means that a long service life can be expected.

Assembling the table was very easy and took about 45 minutes. The instructions are well described and easy to understand thanks to the many pictures. Thanks to this and the tools supplied, even people without manual skills and tools can assemble the desk without any problems. In order to position the table top exactly in the middle of the frame, the position of the frame must be measured . A positioning aid or marking of the screw points on the top would have been helpful here.
The height adjustment works reliably and smoothly. The table moves up smoothly and stops just as gently. The height is shown on the LCD display in centimetres, under one meter even to the millimeter. The table height can be adjusted to an accuracy of around two millimetres using the manual control buttons. In our case, the displayed height deviates from the actual height by around one centimeter. However, this deviation can be adjusted through individual programming. This is well described in the operating instructions and works straight away. Moving to defined heights using the memory buttons also works smoothly and reliably. It is advisable to save a sitting and standing height, as you then do not have to hold down the adjustment button when raising and lowering.
The maximum height of the tabletop is 129 cm, the minimum height is 63 cm. This means that the table can be adapted to different body heights and needs both when sitting and standing. We test the extension with an additional load of 15 kg on the tabletop. Despite the load, the table extends from the minimum height to the maximum height in less than 30 seconds. However, in our test, the power supply unit requires a longer pause to cool down after several consecutive ascents and descents. This is indicated by the message “Hot” on the display and a red animation of the LED strip and is also described in the operating instructions. However, this does not occur during normal everyday operation of the table.
The LED strip can be switched on and off using the corresponding button. It bathes the area under the table in colored light, creating a very special atmosphere. An animation can also be selected using the button. In addition to constant illumination, the strip can also alternate between brighter and darker or allow illuminated areas to move from one side to the other. The color can be selected via the user-defined programming.
Overall, the StandXT table is highly recommended. It is stable, works reliably, is easy to use and offers a wide range of functions. As extras, it has practical USB charging sockets and bathes the desk corner in a fancy light when required thanks to the LED strip.

For height-adjustable desks with a comparably large tabletop, prices of up to €900 are being asked on the Internet. Very inexpensive products are available from as little as €249. The D06 desk from StandXT is currently in the lower price segment with a price of €399.95. The price ratio is reasonable for the quality and scope of services you get.
