The Japanese saw from ZENVENTURE made a very good impression in our test. The saw cuts extremely well and is remarkably easy to handle. It can be used for cutting all types of wood. Thanks to the different serrations on both sides, the saw can be used optimally for cuts both lengthwise and crosswise to the wood fibre. A special feature of this product is the saw blade, which can be easily replaced without the need for additional tools. Also worth emphasising is the ergonomic non-slip handle, which makes sawing child’s play.

The saw was delivered in the typical Amazon box. The box was undamaged and easy to open with the zipper without any additional tools. The saw was delivered separately in an environmentally friendly printed box. It is definitely worth emphasising that the instructions were printed directly on the box. This avoids further paper waste and utilises space effectively. The product can also be stored in the box after use.

After unpacking, there were three things on the workbench. In addition to the saw blade and the rubberised handle, a very sturdy protective cover was supplied for the blade. This is made of a strong artificial leather that prevents injuries. Instructions on how to use and care for the product can be found on the product packaging. Contact information is provided and the customer is kindly informed that German customer service can be contacted at any time using the contact details given. All in all, this is an exceptionally well thought-out and customer-friendly way to send a product.

The saw blade is made of hardened special steel with coarse and fine teeth and the handle is made of rubberised plastic. The screw for changing the blade is very easy to grip and visually marked so that the user immediately recognises which way to turn to loosen or tighten the blade. The protective cover made of sturdy imitation leather included in the package should be emphasised. This prevents damage after use, ensures safe storage and also protects against injuries. ZENVENTURE has also thought about sustainability. The saw blade is replaceable and can be reordered separately. This means that the handle can be used for a long time and does not have to be disposed of.

We enjoyed working with the Japanese saw during the test. Unusually for beginners, the saw does not cut by pushing forwards, but by pulling. The advantage of this is that the saw blade always remains straight and does not bend. This makes very precise cuts possible. The two different teeth on both sides of the blade make it easy to make clean cuts along and across the wood fibre with very little effort. The saw blade is very sharp and sits comfortably in the hand thanks to the long rubberised handle. The Zenventure Japanese saw is a very good and practical tool that allows even non-professionals to work cleanly. Thanks to the replaceable saw blade and simple packaging, it is also sustainable and saves resources.
