The Mutkind brand drawer locks arrive in compact packaging made entirely from recyclable cardboard. This is sturdy and provides sufficient protection for the already robust product. At the same time, the manufacturer avoids unnecessary packaging waste and therefore completely convinced us in this respect.
Inside are the specified 8 drawer locks and brief, illustrated instructions for use in German. These are clearly formulated – but the product itself is self-explanatory.
Visually, the packaging is a light green and looks appealing and suitable for children. Various product information and contact information for the manufacturer and customer support are printed on the packaging.

The drawer safety catch also impresses on closer inspection, confirming the very good first impression gained previously. Visually, the product is discreet yet appealing. The hard plastic parts are kept in a classic white, while the flexible plastic straps come in a milky white color. This makes the fuses visually less conspicuous in a positive sense.
The workmanship is of high quality, even and flawless. Even on closer inspection, no defects can be found on the individual parts.
The product is very stable and robust. Even under heavy loads, no deformations or breakages can be detected. The extra-wide adhesive strips used are from the Tesa brand and underline the high-quality product design.
Unfortunately, there are no recycling labels on the product itself. However, the manufacturer advertises a 5-year guarantee, reliable and dedicated customer support and a money-back guarantee if the product does not meet the customer’s expectations. By using high-quality materials, it contributes to a long service life and minimizes transport routes, meaning that the product can be considered sustainable overall.

For our test, we attached the drawer locks to various drawers, kitchen and living room cabinets. The result did not surprise us due to the very positive first impressions.
First of all, the manufacturer impressed us with the look of the product. Thanks to the transparent pull straps and the well-made adhesive surface, the safety catches look high quality and are both attractive and functional.
Installation is extremely simple. After cleaning the surface, the fuses can simply be stuck on and adjusted to the correct length using the plastic clips. The whole process is completed in under a minute , which underlines the customer-oriented product design.
Despite the very simple installation, the stability is in no way compromised. Thanks to the extra-wide adhesive strips, the safety catches reliably withstand heavy loads, which has been tested by both children and adults. In any case, the manufacturer fully meets our expectations of a practical product that is suitable for everyday use.
At the same time, the safety catches can be attached to almost any drawer or cupboard door, as long as there is a second, solid surface on the piece of furniture. This ensures maximum flexibility in a well thought-out overall concept.
Removing the product is just as easy. The adhesive strip used can be heated with a hairdryer. The manufacturer advertises easy and residue-free removal. This means that no traces remain on the furniture when the children are old enough and the fuses are no longer needed. As the adhesive strips were only attached for a few days during our test, we cannot make any statements about longer periods of time. However, it was possible to remove them without leaving any residue for the specified period.
All in all, the manufacturer kept all its advertising promises in our practical test, which is why we rate the product as very good.
