Manufacturer’s product description
The Nanit Pro camera baby monitor with app and floor stand is one of the most advanced solutions in the field of baby monitoring. Parents not only get a classic baby monitor, but also a comprehensive monitoring system that keeps an eye on their child’s sleep, breathing movements, and well-being. The sensor-free breathing monitoring feature is particularly innovative. It works in conjunction with the included breathing band and gives parents an additional sense of security. The app control allows multiple users to access the camera anytime, anywhere, receive notifications, and view valuable sleep data. It is possible to connect a second camera using a split screen.
During testing, we wereimpressed by the crystal-clear HD images, intuitive operation, numerous functions, and detailed sleep analyses, which offer parents practical support in everyday life.
However, we found itnegative that a paid subscription is required for advanced analysis functions and saving memories, and that the product is priced in the mid-range segment.
Advantages
- Breathing monitoring without sensors
- Very good image quality
- Smart app with many functions
- Sturdy construction and floor stand
- Comprehensive sleep analyses

The Nanit Pro camera baby monitor arrived in neat and secure packaging that was perfectly suited to the size of the product. We were particularly impressed by the fact that no unnecessary packaging material was used and that polystyrene was completely avoided. Instead, a cardboard alternative was used, supplemented by a few plastic films to protect the sensitive electronics.
The product was protected at all times—the camera and floor stand arrived undamaged, without any scratches or damage. The scope of delivery was complete and included the camera, the sturdy floor stand with base plate, pole segments, and cable channels, a wall mount (U-clamp), a breathing monitor strap for newborns (0–3 months), and a power supply.
The user manual proved to be very detailed, easy to understand, and available in several languages. The digital component is particularly noteworthy: the Nanit app provides users with video assembly instructions, which makes the installation process even easier. Our first impression of the product was that it was well designed, sustainably packaged, and comprehensively equipped.

When we first picked it up, the baby monitor impressed us with its modern, slim design, which blends harmoniously into any living environment. The build quality is very high—we did not find any manufacturing defects, sharp edges, or uneven surfaces during the entire test period.
The stability was also impressive: the base stand appears extremely robust, and the camera sits securely in the holder without wobbling. The high-quality materials used for the metal rod segments contribute to the product’s durability.
There is no specific manufacturer information regarding sustainability. However, based on the sturdy materials and high-quality workmanship, we assume that the product will have a long service life. In summary, the Nanit Pro makes a high-quality, modern, and very stable overall impression, which inspires confidence in its use over many years.

In practical testing, the Nanit Pro baby monitor impressed with its excellent image and sound quality. The camera transmits in 1080p HD and delivers crystal-clear real-time images – even in the dark, thanks to a very clear night vision function. The ability to flexibly adjust bandwidth usage is particularly practical. You can choose between low, medium, and high quality to ensure stable transmission even with a weak internet connection.
The sleep analysis feature of the Nanit app proved to be extremely accurate. Parents receive detailed information about sleep duration, bedtime, wake-up times, number of visits, sleep efficiency, and even their child’s crying or coughing during the night. Every morning, the app automatically creates a summary video with the most important events. With the paid Milestone subscription, the analyses can be expanded to include, for example, the baby’s sleeping position, head posture, and activity level—a feature that is of particular interest to parents who are intensively involved in their child’s sleep development. The app also provides personalized sleep tips based on the collected data.
A key element of the test was the breathing monitor, which works entirely without additional sensors. The cotton breathing band was easy to put on, comfortable for the baby to wear, and worked reliably. There were no false alarms during the two-week test period. In an emergency, both the camera and connected smartphones trigger a loud alarm. On the plus side, the alarm function is guaranteed even without an active internet connection – an important safety feature.
The floor stand impressed with its sturdy construction and easy height adjustment via modular rod segments. Parents can place the stand anywhere in the room or securely attach it to the wall using the U-clamp. The cable safety feature was particularly positive: an integrated cable channel provides reliable protection against strangulation hazards.
The app’s user-friendliness was also a clear highlight in the test. The user interface is intuitive, and all functions such as dimmable night light, noise generators (with white noise, waves, birds, wind), care diary, and reminder clips can be controlled with just a few clicks. Push notifications for movement, noise, temperature, or humidity deviations provided reliable information without delay.
Overall, the practical test showed that the Nanit Pro baby monitor delivers on all its key advertising promises and impresses with its combination of security, convenience, and smart features. In our practical test, we were able to confirm that the image and sound quality are excellent and that the app is indeed very user-friendly. At the same time, we found that the additional costs associated with subscriptions are a valid point of criticism. There are three subscription options, and the basic “Sleep Plan” subscription, which already offers a comprehensive app experience, is free for the first year. Even without any subscriptions, you still have a very good live baby camera with breathing monitoring.
