About Us

Prüfengel offers authentic consumer tests in which real users share their experiences with products. Our tests are based on practical applications in everyday life and reflect the opinions of consumers. As we focus on consumer tests, we do not carry out any material, long-term or laboratory tests. The tests are carried out by 1-2 independent consumers over a period of 7-14 days. The exact test conditions can be viewed in the test plan of the respective test report – click here to go directly to the test plan.

Manufacturers provide the tested products free of charge. We charge a one-off test fee for carrying out the tests. In addition, manufacturers pay an annual licence fee for the use of the Prüfengel seal. We also receive a commission for linking to manufacturers’ websites. These remunerations have no influence on our test results or ratings.

The PRIOstahl pigeon repellent product consists of spikes designed to repel pigeons.
The product consists of robust bird repellent spikes made of V2A stainless steel with a transparent, flexible polycarbonate base plate. The four-row plug-in system allows for easy installation by gluing, screwing, or nailing and can be shortened or extended as needed.
The spikes are ideal for use on balconies, gutters, carports, roof beams, or industrial buildings. They form an effective landing barrier and prevent pigeons, crows, ravens, seagulls, sparrows, and even cats from settling. Thanks to UV- and weather-resistant materials, the repellent remains durable and reliable even in rain, snow, and strong sunlight. A permanent solution against dirt and nesting attempts, also suitable for areas around solar and photovoltaic systems.
The scope of delivery includes ten elements with a total length of five meters.

This product was delivered in a box that was perfectly sized for the contents.
It is worth noting that no environmentally harmful plastic packaging materials were used.
Instructions for use are not included with the product—these are not absolutely necessary, as assembly is self-explanatory. However, a small flyer with assembly information would be desirable.

When you pick up the individual modules of the product for the first time , you immediately notice the sturdy plastic base.
The base is transparent, so the pigeon repellent modules are not too conspicuous.
It was found that the individual wires are all the same length. They also appear to be very sturdy. The material is slightly flexible and vibrates a little, which ensures that the wires do not break easily.
Overall, the length of the wires gives the impression that they are well suited for bird control, as it would be difficult for birds to settle on this defense system.

The pigeon deterrent was subjected to a detailed practical test.
This product can be attached either with the cable ties provided or with screws.
In the practical test, the pigeon repellent was screwed in place because the cable ties were not long enough for the beam.
In terms of bird deterrence, it was found that no pigeons settled on the beam after the spikes were installed .
The spikes are very thin and the plastic base is transparent. This ensures that the product is almost invisible.
Under point loads, it was found that the spikes do not deform and return to their original shape after the load is removed .
No noise was noticeable in rain or wind .
In product testing, the pigeon repellent impressed with its inconspicuous design and effectiveness in repelling birds.
