Push-up push-up board in the 2023 test

The push-up board from Body & Mind® made a very good impression overall in our test. The set consists of a foldable board, eight stick-on feet, two handles and two resistance bands and is supplied in sturdy and compact product packaging that is also suitable for storage. In the practical test , the variability of the exercises proved to be surprisingly high. Although different muscle groups cannot be trained as specifically as in the gym, it is clearly noticeable that the different exercises work the muscles to different degrees. The resistance bands prove to be a useful extra, but are unfortunately not adjustable, which means that the intensity of the exercises is predetermined.

We took a close look at and tested the product in a practical test. In the following, we take a closer look at the features and impressions. From the packaging, materials and quality to the range of functions and handling, the product is subjected to our test procedure.

ℹ️ Here we take a closer look at packaging. Sustainability is becoming an increasingly important factor. In addition, adequate protection of the product must of course also be guaranteed. Are the contents of the packaging complete and does the manufacturer make it as easy as possible for me to use the product straight away?

The Body & Mind push-up board is supplied in compact product packaging . The packaging is made of sturdy cardboard and is slightly smaller than a typical shoe box. The surface is printed in high-gloss black and shows the contents. It is easy to open without tools and can even be closed again thanks to a flap in the box. The product packaging is therefore also ideal for storing the set.

Inside is the push-up board including accessories. The push-up board is packed in a plastic bubble bag . The board can be folded in the middle for compact packaging and storage. The bag also contains eight feet for the board. Another plastic bag contains two resistance bands. The handles for the board are loose in the product packaging.

As the product packaging is therefore well filled, the individual parts cannot slide around and damage each other. From our point of view, however, a more sustainable material could have been chosen for the two bags in the product packaging, as the product packaging already offers very good protection against damage and soiling.

Instructions for use are also included. These are printed in color and include several illustrations for clarification. Unfortunately, the entire text is in English. The instruction manual contains safety instructions, helpful tips and suggests a fitness program.

ℹ️ Before we start the practical test, we take a close look at the workmanship of the products. How high quality are the materials used? Are the look and feel satisfactory?

When unfolded , the push-up board is just over 63 cm wide, almost 18 cm long and 17 mm high. The basic idea behind the product is not particularly sustainable: push-ups can also be performed without a board. The Body & Mind® push-up board is therefore cleverly designed to get the most out of the push-up concept.

The board is symmetrical and has eleven grips on each side and an anchor for the resistance bands. The grips are color-coded and can be assigned to the body area being trained using a legend in the middle of the board. The possible areas are shoulders, triceps, back and chest. The board is made of sturdy, hard plastic and the anchoring for the resistance bands is made of metal. The feet can be glued to the underside of the board. Unfortunately, these can easily be mistaken for dummy plugs for the surrounds as they have almost the same diameter. A note in the instructions that these are feet would be desirable.

The handles are also made of hard plastic. However, they have a soft rubber coating in the grip area to make them comfortable to hold. They can be easily pressed into the recesses provided and form a stable connection with the board. Nevertheless, pulling them out and changing their position is quick and easy.

The resistance bands consist of a stretchy rubber tube. A snap hook is attached to the lower end, which can be hooked into the anchors in the board. At the upper end there is a handle which is connected to the rubber tube by a robust strap. This handle is also padded, but with foam instead of rubber.

Overall, both the board and the accessories are well made and make a sufficiently stable impression. However, fitness equipment is often exposed to high loads and therefore more stable materials such as plastic are conceivable.

The first thing we use in our practical test is the push-up board with the handles. There are seven positions for the chest, four each for the back and triceps and two positions for the shoulders. Our practical test actually shows that, depending on the position of the handles, the muscles in the areas of the body to be trained are worked to different degrees. Although the training is not as targeted as on special equipment in a gym, it is impressive how big the difference in strain is by varying the angle and distance of the handles. The intensity of the training can be adjusted via the height of the footrest in relation to the height of the board. For beginners, we recommend supporting the exercises on your knees.

The push-up board is also helpful for maintaining a consistent and precise alignment. As previously shown, exact alignment and execution are of great importance when doing push-ups. This not only enables targeted training of specific muscle groups, but also allows you to compare your own training over a long period of time. It is also possible to adapt to your own body size by adjusting the distance between the handles in some positions.

In the next part of the practical test, we train with the resistance bands. Thanks to the carabiners, hooking into the board works without any problems and the resistance bands are firmly anchored. In addition to various shoulder and upper body exercises, the resistance bands can also be used to train the legs. For example, difficult squats are possible. One disadvantage of the resistance bands is that they cannot be adjusted in length or tension. Nevertheless, the resistance bands are a useful and effective extra.

Overall, the push-up board with resistance bands from Body & Mind® is a useful piece of equipment for effectively building muscle at home. The device can be stowed away compactly , set up and taken down quickly and still offers the opportunity to train a variety of muscle groups in a targeted manner.

In our practical test, we were able to confirm that the set is very practical to use and that a variety of exercises can actually be performed.
