Test result preview
The gripping pliers for senior citizens from the SLAH brand are a useful tool for reducing the effort required by people with limited mobility. The price-performance ratio is excellent. The retractable telescopic bar also makes it very space-saving and easy to transport in everyday life. The rubberised and studded surface of the pliers is also very helpful for gripping slippery objects, for example. Only a small amount of force is required to grip the pliers. It should be noted that the weight of the object to be gripped should not be underestimated due to the leverage effect of the long telescopic handle.
Advantages
- Very good price/performance ratio
- Space-saving
- Rubberised and knobbed pliers surface
- Little effort required
Disadvantages
- Leverage effect due to long telescopic rod
- Designed for simple objects

The gripper is supplied in a sturdy, standard cardboard box without damage. They are delivered folded and in bubble wrap with studs. Unnecessary plastic waste is avoided. The bubble wrap encloses the product more than adequately. Unfolding and handling the gripping pliers are self-explanatory, so that instructions for use are not absolutely necessary despite the instruction leaflet.

The workmanship of the gripper is very good for the price. There are no sharp corners or edges anywhere that could lead to injuries during use. The gears and screw connection points of the pliers are finished in detail and make a stable impression. The handle and telescopic rod are also neatly finished. Overall, the product makes a good and usable impression. The supplied design in yellow/black is simple and easily recognisable, but different colour combinations are possible.

In the practical test, the ergonomics and handling of the gripping pliers were tested first. Both the operating button and the handle are moulded and fit comfortably in the hand, so that repeated or prolonged use is possible without any problems. Although the weight of the gripping pliers is noticeable, it is still easy to handle even for people with less strength in their arms. The balance of the gripper is well-balanced. A pronounced centre of gravity of the gripper is not perceptible at any point. The gripping force should not be overestimated due to the lever. Simple objects such as packaging waste or light objects weighing up to approx. 2 kg can be gripped without compromising the stability of the tongs. The nubbed and rubberised surfaces of the pliers enable precise gripping of the various pliers so that even small items can be gripped. The rubberised surfaces also make it easy to grip slippery materials.

Points
On the Amazon platform, consumers rate the product with an average of 4.4 stars. In individual cases, there is criticism that it is perceived as too unstable . On the other hand, the simple and functional design and the high holding power are emphasised positively. In our practical test, we were able to confirm that the elegant and functional design of the gripper was well received by customers. However, consumer criticism of the gripper’s stability was not justified.
Prices of up to €33.95 are charged on the Internet for equivalent products. Very affordable products are available from as little as €9.99 . The SLAH gripper is therefore currently in the lower price segment with a price of €14.99. For the quality and performance received, the price-performance ratio is very good.
