In our test, the smartwood TIPI house bed proved to be a functional and stylish children’s bed that enriches both everyday life and playtime in the nursery. The characteristic TIPI shape gives the bed a special charm and creates space for creative play and individual decoration – for example, with fairy lights, garlands, or canopies.
We were particularly impressed by the bed’s stability. The integrated drawer on rubber wheels offers additional storage space and makes the bed extremely practical for everyday use. Another advantage is the pull-out railing, which provides a high level of safety during sleep.
We particularly like the smooth, rounded edges and the included slatted frame, which can support up to 230 kg.
However, it would be desirable to include an Allen key to further simplify the assembly process.
Overall, the bed offers a compelling combination of design, functionality, stability, and ecology.

As soon as we unpacked the smartwood TIPI house bed, it was clear that the manufacturer attaches great importance to quality and protection. The cardboard packaging is sturdy and the product was optimally secured during transport, so that no damage to the children’s bed was found. At the same time, the sustainable approach is also worth mentioning: unnecessary packaging waste was completely avoided without neglecting product protection. The package contents were complete and correctly sorted, and all components, including the slatted frame, drawer, railings, and connecting elements, were neatly packed and easy to find. We particularly liked the visually structured instructions. The steps, most of which are illustrated, make assembly much easier and reduce the likelihood of errors. For end consumers, this means an uncomplicated, comprehensible, and stress-free assembly experience. Overall, the delivery made a very professional impression, which is fitting for a high-quality solid wood bed like this one.

When we first saw the TIPI house bed, we were immediately impressed by its harmonious, modern appearance. The TIPI shape is not only a visual highlight, but also fits easily into a wide variety of interior styles thanks to the eleven colors available. The workmanship can be described as excellent: the wooden surfaces are smooth, cleanly sanded, and pleasant to the touch. Rounded edges and precisely milled transitions ensure a high level of safety—a crucial point for children’s beds. The stability test was above average. Thanks to 15-millimeter-thick pine plywood, the bed appears extremely robust and durable. FSC certification also confirms that the material comes from sustainable, responsible forestry – an important plus point for consumers who value eco-friendly furniture. The natural, slightly uneven grain makes each bed look like a unique, individually crafted piece, which we found to be a particular aesthetic advantage in our test.

In practical testing, the TIPI house bed confirmed our high expectations. Assembly was straightforward, as all parts were made to fit perfectly and all screw points were neatly pre-finished. Only a few adjustments were necessary, which makes assembly easy even for less experienced DIYers. During use, the bed proved to be remarkably quiet. Movements when getting in or out are cushioned almost silently by the solid construction.
The quality of the connecting elements is particularly noteworthy: even after several stress tests, they showed no signs of wear. Cleaning the bed was also effortless – small residues could be removed without any problems, which makes everyday life much easier.
Last but not least, the bed impressed with its design in the living environment: it blends harmoniously into any child’s room and enhances the overall aesthetics of the room with its natural, modern look. The bed thus fulfills the advertising promises in all areas tested: stability, design, sustainability, durability, and comfort.
