In our test, the THERMY thermal underwear set from Nebulus was completely convincing and therefore made a very good impression. The set is available for men and women in different sizes and colors and consists of a long-sleeved top with a turtleneck and long underpants. For our test, we received the women’s version in navy blue and size S and the men’s version in black and size M. Unfortunately, the set is too small for our tester, but it fits our tester well. The material quality and workmanship are impressive. The practical test shows that the two garments fit very comfortably and keep you warm thanks to the thin fleece layer on the inside. One disadvantage, however, is that the underwear cannot be washed at 60°C.

In our case, the THERMY thermal underwear set from Nebulus was delivered together with other products in a sturdy shipping box. The shipping box was undamaged and could be easily opened with a knife or scissors. The shipping box was also optimally sized as it was filled to the top. This protects the environment : not only is the amount of material required for the shipping box minimized, but the small space required by the package also ensures better utilization of the transport vehicles. Inside the box was the THERMY thermal underwear set in its product packaging.
The product packaging consists of a transparent plastic bag in which the THERMY thermal underwear set was packed. The film is tear-resistant and non-stretchable. A Nebulus logo is printed on the front of the packaging. There is also a sticker with a barcode, the product name and the size of the thermal underwear set. There are warnings on the back that the bag poses a choking hazard. The information is available in four languages, including German and English. The top of the bag has an opening that is sealed with an adhesive strip on the film. The adhesive strip is reusable. If the thermal underwear set is to be returned, the bag can be resealed with the existing adhesive strip. There is a layer of thin paper between the individual layers of the folded thermal underwear set to prevent the fabric of the underwear from rubbing against each other during transportation.

ℹ️ Most people’s first impression after unpacking is immediately memorable. Are the contents of the package complete and does the manufacturer make it as easy as possible for me to use the product straight away?

The thermal underwear set consists of a long-sleeved top and long underpants. On the label of the top there is a cardboard disc the size of a beer mat, which is printed on both sides in high gloss with the Nebulus logo, which is also on the product packaging.
There are no instructions for use, but they are not required. Washing instructions can be found on the labels on the inside of both components, where they are shown with the familiar symbols. There is also information on the material composition of the respective parts, as well as the size and product name.

ℹ️ Before we start the practical test, we take a close look at the product processing. How high quality are the materials used? Is the look and feel satisfactory?

For our test, we received the THERMY thermal underwear set for men in black and for women in navy blue. A direct comparison of the two colors shows that there is little difference in low light conditions. The blue shade is very dark, so that it can only be distinguished from black in low light by direct comparison. In addition to navy blue and black, the set is also available in cobalt blue and gray. Both versions have seams in a contrasting color and Nebulus lettering on the chest. The trousers also feature an embroidered Nebulus N on the side just below the waistband.
Neither the top nor the trousers have zippers or pockets. The collar of the top is designed as a turtleneck and is therefore long and narrow. The trousers do not have a zipper, but an elastic waistband.
The fabric of the set is the same for both the top and the trousers. It is very thin, very stretchy and yet tear-resistant. The fabric is fine and even. The inside of the garments is finished with a thin fleece surface. This makes the fabric very soft on the inside. According to the manufacturer, the set is made entirely of polyester. The seams are all even and neatly finished. There are hardly any protruding threads and, if there are any, they are only very short. Apart from this, the thermal underwear set has no other manufacturing defects. The good quality suggests a long service life.
Overall, the quality of the fabrics used and the seams as well as the workmanship are impressive. The dark colors also make the THERMY thermal under wear set very discreet.

ℹ️ Our practical test is the most relevant and therefore the most important. Here, the product has to undergo a wide range of criteria and tests. We check the functions and product promises of the test article.

The THERMY thermal underwear set is available in various sizes from S to XXL. We received the set for men in M and for women in S. The set fits our tester, who is 170 cm tall, very well. Unfortunately, size S is too small for our tester, who is just over 160 cm tall, which is noticeable in the top with short sleeves and a slight squeeze under the armpits.
The men’s version of the set fits well and is snug without being uncomfortably tight and is comfortable to wear even after long periods of wear . The soft and comfortable fleece layer on the inside also contributes to this. However, as with the women’s version, the disadvantage is that the bottom of the pants sits quite low . This limits the freedom of movement of the legs, but at a high level. In our opinion, this is only relevant for sports that require a high degree of freedom of movement, such as climbing. This is not noticeable in everyday life. Apart from that, the freedom of movement is very good. The elastic waistband ensures a good fit so that the trousers do not slip.
Both the top and the underpants keep you very warm despite the thin fabric. The fleece layer on the inside also contributes to this. As additional protection against the cold, the top has a high turtleneck that wraps around the neck like a scarf. The sleeves of the men’s version are also long enough to cover the skin up to the base of the gloves. The same applies to the leg length, which extends to the ankles.
In the last part of our practical test, we wash the set according to the manufacturer’s instructions. For the THERMY thermal underwear set, this means an easy-care wash cycle at 30 °C, without drying, but with ironing at 110 °C. As this is underwear that may also be used for sporting activities, we would have liked it to be washable at 60 °C. A high temperature is important to reliably kill bacteria and thus ensure adequate hygiene. The set survives the washing procedure without damage or fading.
Overall, the THERMY thermal underwear set impressed us in our practical test. It is a reliable choice for anyone looking for optimum protection and warmth in cold temperatures without compromising on comfort . The only small compromises have to be made in terms of freedom of movement and washability.

ℹ️ Finally, we look at how the product compares to the competition. Can it keep up with the competition in terms of price and quality? Would we generally recommend buying it? We also examine consumer ratings and check whether the critical and positive reviews are actually justified.

The only point of criticism is that the set is too small. The set in S was also too small for our tester, although she usually wears S. However, it fitted our tester perfectly.
