The Ride exercise bike set from Tretmann was delivered in a relatively compact and sturdy cardboard box . The box serves both as a shipping box and as product packaging. Measuring 103 cm x 46 cm x 23 cm, the box is very large even without the additional shipping box, but this is due to the dimensions of the product. The box has an attractive green and white design. Scissors or a knife are required to open the box.
The individual components of the set are carefully stowed inside the box. Styrofoam trays and cardboard elements help to keep the individual parts in place and prevent the parts from scratching each other. The trays also stabilize the structure of the box so that it does not collapse under its own weight of 20 kg. The box and contents are undamaged and in perfect condition. The components of the exercise bike can be easily removed from the packaging and, according to the manufacturer, the transparent plastic film is made from recycled plastic. This gives us the feeling that sustainability and recycling are important to the company. The instruction manual is packed in a zip bag to protect it from contamination.

The main component of the set is the exercise bike, which is delivered disassembled into 17 individual parts. The tools required for assembly, consisting of an open-end wrench and an Allen key, are also included in the set. A training logbook and a poster with stretching exercises are also included. These are included in the zip bag with the instructions for use, along with the batteries for the exercise bike display.
Theoperating instructions have several pages and are described in great detail in German. The operating instructions contain installation and operating instructions as well as information on the safety and disposal of the appliance. The Ride exercise bike from Tretmann has a simple black design with light green decorative elements. It consists of an adjustable frame, an adjustable seat, pedals and a handlebar with LCD display. The pedal resistance is generated mechanically and can be adjusted in ten stages via a wheel on the frame. The small size of the exercise bike is also a positive feature, making it suitable for use in confined spaces.
The frame consists of painted square and round metal profiles. The profiles are firmly connected to each other with silver screws. The frame stands on two round profiles that lie on the ground at right angles to the direction of travel. The front profile is located approximately at the height of the handlebars, the second just behind the seat. There are plastic caps at the ends of the profiles to prevent the floor from being scratched.
The seat consists of a wide bicycle saddle and a padded backrest. Additional padded handles are attached to the sides of the seat. As the frame does not have a connecting bar between the seat and handlebars, it is possible to get onto the seat at a low level. The handlebars are rigidly mounted at the top of a curved square profile. The curved grips allow the handlebars to be held at the bottom, sides and top. Like the grab handles next to the seat, the handlebars are also padded. There is a cell phone holder on the back facing the rider. There is a holder for a water bottle at the front.
The LCD display is located in the center of the curved handlebar grips. It is able to display the distance covered, calories burned, training time and speed. It also has a heart rate monitor to monitor training progress. The sensors for heart rate measurement are located on both sides of the handlebar grips. A button can be used to select which information is to be displayed.
Overall, the exercise bike makes a high-quality and robust impression. The workmanship is flawless, all the parts supplied fit together perfectly and hold together firmly. As a result, the exercise bike is very stable and can easily withstand the pedaling forces even at the highest resistance level. The good quality means that a long service life can be expected.

Setting up the exercise bike was relatively easy and took about 30 minutes. The instructions were very detailed and easy to understand thanks to the many pictures. All the necessary tools were included. The required screws are already screwed into the corresponding holes so that there are no questions about which screw goes where during assembly. This means that even people without any manual skills or tools can assemble the exercise bike without any problems.
The exercise bike is double adjustable and can therefore be easily adapted to different body sizes. The distance between the handlebars and seat can be adjusted using an adjustable connecting bar between the saddle and rear foot. This also changes the seat height and angle so that the riding position can be chosen between a reclined, low sitting position and a high, upright sitting position. The seat post can also be pulled out of the frame to varying degrees, which changes the distance between the pedals and the seat. In both cases, the adjustment is made in just a few seconds using a quick-release system, whereby several intermediate stages can be set. The lack of connecting struts between the handlebars and saddle makes it possible to get on as low as on a ladies’ bike. This means that the exercise bike is also ideal for less flexible people. Only when the handlebars are held at the very top is the absence of the connecting struts noticeable, as the handlebars can then be moved slightly while riding.
The Tretmann Ride offers a pleasant riding experience. The saddle is well padded and comfortable. The pedals are non-slip and have a good grip. The straps over the pedals, into which you can hook your feet, are also helpful. The handlebars are ergonomically shaped and allow a comfortable hand position.
The ten-stage resistance setting is very practical and enables effective training. The resistance can be easily set using a rotary knob on the frame and can also be adjusted while riding. At the lowest level, there is hardly any resistance to be felt, the feeling is almost like idling. It is therefore particularly suitable for integrating exercise into everyday life without any effort.
A clear resistance can be felt at the highest level. This can be guided by the 8 magnets in contrast to the 6 magnets in competitor models.
From a sporting point of view, we classify the training as endurance training.
The different resistance levels are well graded for different requirements. The comfortable sitting position and the various posture options allow for concentrated training.
The training computer is easy to operate with just one button and provides a good overview of the training data. When pedaling, it switches on automatically and displays the information one after the other.
