Warning sign from ATHELON

The reflective warning signs from ATHELON comply with all road traffic regulations in Italy, Spain and Portugal. With their 3-in-1 reversible function, they are versatile and can easily be used for any of these countries. The set includes a waterproof bag for safe storage in the trunk and four lashing straps for secure attachment to the bike rack, motorhome or caravan. Made from robust aluminum and with a protective rubber edge , the warning signs are durable and weatherproof. One point of criticism is the unecological and unnecessary packaging.

ℹ️ Here we take a closer look at packaging. Sustainability is becoming an increasingly important factor. In addition, adequate protection of the product must of course also be guaranteed. Are the contents of the packaging complete and does the manufacturer make it as easy as possible for me to use the product straight away?

The ATHELON warning sign was delivered in two boxes for our test. On the outside, the product was in a very large Amazon box, and on the inside in a small box with the company logo and product name, with a nice thank-you note from the manufacturer on the back. The Amazon box was disproportionately large in relation to the size of the product. In addition, paper was inserted to better protect the small box. Both boxes were undamaged and could be opened easily without additional tools. However, when unpacking the set, we noticed the excessive amount of packaging material . Although the product itself was undamaged and in perfect condition , the amount of plastic packaging was clearly excessive. The warning sign was packed in a plastic bag and the tension straps in bubble wrap. Instructions for use were not included.

ℹ️ Before we start the practical test, we take a close look at the workmanship of the products. How high quality are the materials used? Are the look and feel satisfactory?

The ATHELON warning sign impresses with its excellent visual appearance and high-quality materials. The workmanship is also very well thought out. The reflective sign is made of scratch-resistant and lightweight aluminum, which ensures high stability . Unfortunately, the Prüfengel Institute has no information on the sustainability of the product. Nevertheless, it can be stated that the set is made of high-quality material and therefore has a long service life . One point of criticism is the non-sustainable packaging of the warning sign. There is definitely room for improvement here.

The waterproof bag supplied has proven to be very practical, allowing the warning sign for bicycle carriers to be stored safely in the trunk when not in use without being damaged . This ensures optimum storage and protects the warning sign from external influences. The warning sign also impresses in terms of stability and attachment. It has robust fastening eyelets and a protective rubber edge that ensure secure fastening. Even when driving on different road surfaces and at different speeds, the warning sign remained firmly attached. Fitting the warning sign was extremely quick and easy , even though no operating instructions were supplied. Another important aspect is compliance with legal requirements. The warning sign complies with Italian road traffic regulations on one side and Spanish and Portuguese road traffic regulations on the other. It can therefore be used without hesitation in these countries.
