The product design is classically based on an activated carbon filter. The processing of the felt edges is clean, virtually fibre-free and without production residues. All grooves and the mouths are very well finished and have no open-pored processing defects. Despite the necessary flexibility, the product is very stable and can be easily handled and processed by hand during installation. No information has been provided on the durability of the product, but long-term use can be assumed due to the high-quality workmanship.

In the practical test, the activated charcoal filter was tested in a similar cooker bonnet due to its fit. On a positive note, the volume of the cooker bonnet did not increase when using the filter, so that no difference could be perceived. Minimal, inconspicuous residues were found when cleaning the filter, but these did not impair its function in any way. The minimal difference in odour was not perceived as disturbing and is barely perceptible during normal use. The filter surfaces were always clean and intact. On a positive note, there was a noticeable and measurable difference in the air quality.

At the time of testing, the product had not been listed on Amazon for long enough. Therefore, the existing reviews do not sufficiently reflect the advantages and disadvantages of the product, so this point is neglected in the evaluation.
Prices of up to €99.97 are charged on the Internet for equivalent products. Very affordable products are available from as little as €24.97 . The activated charcoal filter from Pillis® is therefore currently in the lower price segment with a price of €29.99. For the quality and performance received, the price-performance ratio is very good.
