“Capax” pannier in the 2023 test

The “Capax” pannier from MIVELO made a very good impression in our test. In addition to the simple assembly, the product impresses with its simple, timeless design and the large selection of colors. The material is made of waterproof, thermoplastic polyurethane and has a high-quality appearance. As a real multifunctional talent , the product can be used as a carrier bag, shoulder bag and bike bag. It offers plenty of storage space, a removable laptop compartment and a front pocket for smaller items. Both the reflective logo and the lock supplied ensure sufficient safety during transportation and in road traffic. Only the lower fastening hook was not entirely convincing in the test.

The “Capax” pannier from MIVELO arrived for our test in a typical shipping box. This was undamaged on arrival and could be easily opened by removing the adhesive strip. Inside the product box, the bike bag was wrapped in plastic film. This type of packaging ensured that the product was optimally protected from external influences and shipped hygienically. Product protection was therefore fully guaranteed and the bicycle bag was delivered in perfect condition .
The packaging is partially recyclable. However, the plastic film cannot be recycled . Nevertheless, the presentation of the product makes a very good impression.

ℹ️ Most people’s first impression after unpacking is immediately memorable. Are the contents of the package complete and does the manufacturer make it as easy as possible for me to use the product straight away?

The “Capax” bicycle bag is hygienically packaged in a plastic film. The product is made of thermoplastic polyurethane. The correct handling and assembly is briefly described in German on several small cards for the individual product components . The contact information can be found on a label in the product and on the card. However, there is no customer hotline. Nevertheless, this is a very good way to send a product.

First of all, the “Capax” pannier makes a very good visual impression. The material is dimensionally stable and there are no visible seam defects. The individual components look high-quality and robust. The product also impresses with its simple, timeless design.
There is no information about the sustainability of the product. However, due to the high-quality materials used, we assume a long service life . In addition, dirt can simply be wiped off.

The “Capax” pannier is a real multifunctional talent and offers a wide range of possible uses. In the test, the product impresses as a carrier bag, shoulder bag and bike bag. The shoulder strap supplied can be quickly attached and removed. With a volume of 25 liters and a load capacity of 20 kg, the bag offers plenty of storage space. The laptop compartment is removable and smaller items can be quickly stowed away in the front pocket . The reflective logo on the front increases safety on the road. The material is waterproof, which we can confirm from our test. Dirt can therefore be easily wiped off.
Thanks to the Quick-Connect system and various adapters, mounting is a breeze. All you need is a luggage carrier. If the preset distance does not fit, the system can be adjusted to a range between 15 and 23 cm using the Allen key supplied . The pannier can be secured against theft with the lock supplied , providing additional security during transportation. However, it should be noted that the lower fastening hook does not offer the desired stability and the bag wobbles slightly. The fastening concept (with Velcro fastener) is better in other products from the manufacturer.
Customers can currently choose from the colors carbon, grey, jeans blue, mint, olive green, red, sand beige and black.

ℹ️ Finally, we look at how the product compares to the competition. Can it keep up with the competition in terms of price and quality? Would we generally recommend buying it? We also examine consumer ratings and check whether the critical and positive reviews are actually justified.

On the Amazon platform, consumers have given the product an average rating of 4.5 stars. One point of criticism is the fastening system, which is “wobbly” and does not offer a secure hold. In addition, only the main compartment is waterproof. Other reviewers had none of these problems. They praise the quality and the courteous customer service. The design, functionality and ease of assembly are also highlighted. In our practical test, we were able to confirm that the fastening system allows some play. We cannot confirm the lack of waterproofness, as the bike bag was completely waterproof. We were also impressed by the quality, design and functionality.

Prices of up to €150 are charged on the Internet for equivalent products. Very inexpensive products, on the other hand, are available for as little as €25. With a current price of €59.90, the brand’s product is therefore in the middle price segment. Consequently, the price ratio is very good for the quality and scope of services you receive.
