Test result preview
The Essentials 12 suitcase from Redolz is a lightweight yet large and robust travelling companion. Our practical test shows that the suitcase is stable and robust. At the same time, the product offers a high degree of flexibility thanks to the use of polyester and the additional expansion pleat, which can expand the case volume by up to 5 cm as required. In addition to the appealing but rather simple look, functional and practical features such as an integrated TSA combination lock as well as several outer compartments and a laundry compartment should be emphasised . These underline the suitability for everyday use and promote an organised travel experience. However, we were particularly impressed by the very quiet and 360° swivelling wheels on the base of the suitcase, which reflect the high level of comfort. Overall, the suitcase proved to be a suitable companion for longer journeys in our practical test with its size of 46cm x 30cm x 79cm.
Advantages

The Essentials 12 case from the manufacturer Redolz arrives in a plain, brown cardboard box. Inside, the case (46cm x 30cm x 79cm) is wrapped in a transport film. Both the film and the box look solid and appropriate for the intended use. As the product is a travel trolley, no special protective measures are required, meaning that safe transport is fully guaranteed.
In terms of sustainability, the plastic film could possibly be replaced with a more sustainable raw material. On a positive note, the packaging is very compact and minimalist overall. The package contents are complete and as specified by the manufacturer. The manufacturer has dispensed with instructions for use as the product is self-explanatory to use. Only a small information card about the manufacturer and an explanation of the integrated combination lock can be found inside.

A closer look at the Essentials 12 suitcase from Redolz reveals no significant flaws . The visual appearance is intentionally simple and functional, yet appealing. The anthracite colour scheme is harmonious and neutral.
The workmanship is very good overall. There are no faults at the seams, material protrusions or other defects. As a result of this and the robust choice of material, the trolley offers sufficient stability, which also allows a certain degree of flexibility thanks to an expansion fold of up to 5 cm.
Overall, the case makes a very good and high-quality impression. Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not provide any further information on the sustainability of the item or its production and transport. More detailed information would be desirable here. However, this lack of information only slightly detracts from the overall impression.

The Essentials 12 suitcase from Redolz impresses in the practical test with a well thought-out combination of stability, comfort and practical compartments. The carrying handles on various sides are sturdy and well made, making it easy to lift the case, even when fully loaded. The telescopic handle is robust and can be extended without difficulty, which is a particular advantage when pulling over longer distances. The handle remains stable even with intensive use, making it ideal for frequent travelling.
The rolling behaviour of the case is extremely comfortable thanks to the four low-noise castors that can be rotated through 360°. They glide smoothly over a wide variety of floor coverings, whether in airports, railway stations or on bumpy pavements. The castors react quickly to changes in direction and make transporting the case particularly pleasant, as hardly any effort is required.
The suitcase’s zips work reliably and close securely, even when the suitcase is fully packed. This is supported by the integrated TSA combination lock, which offers a high level of security , especially when travelling by air. The additional zipped laundry compartment on the inside is practical and ideal for storing clean and worn clothing separately. The suitcase also has several external compartments that are easily accessible and ideal for smaller items such as travel documents or electronic accessories. The 5 cm expansion pleat is particularly helpful, allowing additional packing volume if required without the suitcase losing its shape or stability.
Made from durable polyester, the case is both sturdy and lightweight. The material stands up well to the challenges of travelling and offers protection from external influences, while the low weight makes it easy to transport. Despite its size, the suitcase is easy to lift and move, making it a reliable companion for longer journeys.
