In our test, the RFID blocker card from Makaka on the run made a very good impression. In addition to very good processing and stability, the card also offers an outstandingly low card thickness of just 0.8 mm. This means there should be room for it in any wallet. What’s more, the card’s defence protection has been independently tested and confirmed by several test institutes. Nevertheless, the blocker card cannot guarantee secure protection if it is too close to other credit cards. So if you want to protect a very full wallet, the use of an RFID wallet is much more advisable.
Advantages
✅ Very thin card thickness (0.8 mm)
✅ Good processing & stability
✅ Good protective field performance
✅ DEKRA & EMC tested
Disadvantages
RFID card (can slip)

Product processing and appearance
ℹ️ Before we start the practical test, we take a close look at the product processing. How high quality are the materials used? Is the look and feel satisfactory?
Criterion | Remark | Score achieved* |
---|---|---|
Visual appearance | Good overall, design could be a little simpler | 90 points |
Processing | Very clean finish | 100 points |
Flexibility & stability | Easy bending & pressing is no problem | 100 points |
Sustainability of the product | Card not made from recycled plastic | 90 points |
Total | 95 points |
*The maximum score is 100 points

The card is very well made. We could not find any blemishes, scratches or similar in our test article. In our opinion, the design could have been a little simpler and tidier, but that is a matter of taste. During our stability test, we repeatedly bent the card slightly to simulate everyday use. This did not damage the card and no unsightly stretch marks were created. We give it full marks for this. In terms of sustainability, it would have been desirable if recycled plastic had been used to manufacture the card. At least according to our information, this is not the case. We deduct 10 points for this.
This is what our practical test showed
Does the manufacturer keep its advertising promises?
ℹ️ Our practical test is the most relevant and therefore the most important. Here, the product has to undergo a wide range of criteria and tests. We check the functions and product promises of the test article.
Criterion | Remark | Score achieved* |
---|---|---|
Protection if cards are congruent | Cards could not be read in our test, works perfectly | 100 points |
360 degree protective field | Protective field works in both directions | 100 points |
Protective field 9cm | Does not apply to more powerful readers | 70 points |
Ultra-thin 0.8mm | Applicable | 100 points |
Miscellaneous | Card can slip | 70 points |
Total | 84 points |
*The maximum score is 100 points
In our test, the blocker card’s jammer worked perfectlywhen the cards were placed on top of each other in the same position. In other words, the card could no longer be read if the RFID protection was in between. It didn’t matter whether the blocker card was above or below the credit card – the protection works in both directions. We therefore award 100 points for the first two criteria.
The manufacturer also promises a protective field radius of 9 cm. In this respect, it should be noted that this is not the protective field radius that is often stated, but the entire protective field. The protective field radius is therefore only 4.5 cm. However, this is only a maximum specification. Protection cannot be guaranteed with stronger readers. In addition, the card can of course also slip in your wallet in everyday use. Overall, the card still makes a good impression The disadvantages listed here are also present in other data protection cards and the small card thickness is a great advantage, as it fits in any wallet.

Price/performance ratio
and ratings from consumers
ℹ️ Finally, we look at how the product compares to the competition. Can it keep up with the competition in terms of price and quality? Would we generally recommend buying it? We also analyse consumer reviews and check whether the critical and positive reviews are actually justified.
Criterion | Remark | Score achieved* |
---|---|---|
Price / performance ratio | Price ratio absolutely reasonable | 100 points |
Rating cut | 4.6 out of 5.0 on Amazon | 80 points |
Total | 90 points |
*The maximum score is 100 points
Prices of up to €14 are charged on the Internet for equivalent products. Very inexpensive products are available for as little as €5. The data protection card from Makaka on the run is currently in the middle price segment with a price of €7.65. If you buy the cards in a double pack, you only pay just under €5.60 per card. The price is absolutely reasonable for the quality and scope of services you receive.
On the Amazon platform, consumers have given the product an average rating of 4.6 stars. Some consumers criticise the information on the protective field, which we also discussed in more detail in our practical test. Many customers like the fact that the card takes up little space and is easy to use. In our practical test, we were able to confirm that the card works very well when all the cards are on top of each other or slightly offset from each other. One disadvantage, however, is that an RFID card can slip. So if you have a very large wallet and want to be on the safe side, it’s better to buy an RFID wallet.
