In practical testing, the popcorn boxes were filled with various snacks and candies to assess, in particular, the stability, handling, and durability of the material. The cardboard used made a sturdy impression. Even when filled with heavier candies, such as gummy bears, the boxes retained their shape. The bottom did not visibly give way under the weight, and the side walls also remained stable.
In addition, the boxes were filled with freshly made, still-warm popcorn. The resulting heat did not cause any noticeable deformation of the cardboard during the test. The boxes retained their shape and could still be held in the hand and set down without any problems.
Another test criterion was how the boxes handled greasy popcorn. After use, the surface of the cardboard was checked for visible grease stains and residue. Only a few isolated, light grease stains were found. No significant greasing through or softening of the cardboard occurred during the test.
The compact size of 12 × 7 × 7 cm proved to be convenient in practical use. The boxes were easy to grip and hold with both smaller and larger hands. At the same time, they offered enough space for a standard serving of popcorn or other small snacks.
When testing for inherent odor, no noticeable or unpleasant odors emanated from the cardboard after unpacking. This did not change even after the boxes were filled.
In the practical test, the boxes stood out particularly for their dimensional stability, ease of use, and minimal formation of grease stains. The boxes could be filled with various snacks and retained their shape during the tested applications. Thus, no significant issues were observed in the properties tested in practice.
