Anwerk’s parasitic wasps have proven to be extremely effective in combating food moths. After the small, inconspicuous ichneumon wasps were placed in the kitchen, a significant reduction in the moth population was seen after a short time. The parasitic wasps parasitize the moth eggs and larvae, killing them. This natural process offers a sustainable and long-lasting solution for controlling food moths. Using the ichneumon wasp is child’s play and requires no specialist knowledge. We received the ichneumon wasps in a package that can be easily positioned near the infested food. The ichneumon wasps independently find the moth nests and control the pests. They only attack food moths, as they are natural enemies of these pests. In contrast to chemical insecticides, which often contain toxic substances, parasitic wasps are an environmentally friendly and sustainable option. Anwerk’s ichneumon wasps are supplied in the form of small card tags, each measuring 11 cm x 5.5 cm. These compact cards contain tiny larvae that are barely visible to the naked eye when they hatch, which underlines their effectiveness in controlling moth eggs. The instructions supplied are extremely clear, which makes it easier to use and handle the ichneumon wasps.
The cards are usually used for about 2 weeks before new ones are supplied to ensure that the new ichneumon wasps can continuously control the moth eggs. The used cards can be safely disposed of in normal residual waste as they do not contain any chemicals and are therefore environmentally friendly . This sustainable disposal option helps to protect the environment and makes the use of Anwerk ichneumon wasps even more attractive.

The Anwerk ichneumon wasps impressed us extremely positively in the test. The application of the various cards was extremely user-friendly and enabled chemical-free control of food moths. The moth traps were carefully packaged and easy to handle, which made them very convenient to use. After just three days we were able to see the first ichneumon wasps, which indicates the effectiveness of the product.
It is important to note that the application sites for the parasitic wasps should not be exposed to direct sunlight, as the parasitic wasps are sensitive to high temperatures. It would be advisable to also purchase pheromone traps, as the combination of both methods is particularly effective in controlling food moths. The ichneumon wasps combat the moth larvae naturally, resulting in a sustainable solution.
The price of the product is very attractive and well-priced, making it affordable for consumers. Overall, we can highly recommend this method of controlling food moths as it is effective, environmentally friendly and inexpensive.
