The Werkthor snow chains appear to be comparatively inexpensive and efficient snow chains, which have good stability despite their acceptable price. The workmanship is consistently good, so that if the snow chains are fitted correctly, there is no risk of danger during fitting or while driving. On the negative side, the contents of the packaging are incomplete. Simple disposable plastic gloves were supplied, although fabric/felt work gloves are shown in the fitting instructions. The assembly instructions are also in need of improvement, an intermediate step was missing which was absolutely necessary for assembly and was only found after lengthy research.

The product protection is more than adequate for the product, so that the packaging arrived completely undamaged. A positive aspect is that no plastic film is used to package the product. The workmanship and design of the snow chains are imaginative and yet visually impeccable . When fitted correctly, a yellow warning ring appears, making the snow chains clearly visible next to the red safety chains, which is very pleasing and has proven to be very useful in practice. The workmanship is seamless and sturdy at key points such as connectors or carabiners, so that good stability is noticeable. No information is provided on the sustainability of the product. However, it can be assumed that the product can be used several times due to its good workmanship.

In the practical test, the fit on the tyre was checked first. Only minimal adjustments with readjustments of a few seconds had to be made, so that the overall fit was still good. Minor readjustments also had to be made after the driving simulation , but these did not pose any danger while driving. During fitting, however, a few uncertainties arose which led to minor difficulties. The snow chains can be cleaned and maintained effortlessly with water or simple cleaning agents in a matter of seconds. The bag supplied is perfectly matched to the snow chains and enables space-saving yet convenient storage.
