The Spring dropper post from Aaron made a very good overall impression in our test. The spring seat post comes with assembly instructions, but you will need your own tools to fit it. The suspension seat post replaces the rigid tube that connects the saddle to the frame on a bicycle. The Spring suspension seat post has a spring-damper unit that absorbs and dampens shocks from bumps. In our test, the Spring suspension seat post impresses with its high quality and a noticeable improvement in riding comfort.

The Aaron suspension seat post was delivered in a sturdy shipping box. As the shipping box was firmly glued with parcel tape , scissors or a knife were required to open it. The shipping box was slightly oversized, so the empty space was filled with recycled paper. Inside the box was the suspension seat post in its product packaging. This means that the suspension seat post is very well protected during transportation.
The product packaging is a resealable cardboard box in an elegant black and white design. No tools are required to open it. The cardboard box is sized appropriately for the spring seat post to save space during transportation and enable compact packaging. The dropper post is undamaged and in very good condition. The product box also contains assembly instructions and a business card with a guarantee promise and contact details. All in all, this is a very customer-friendly way to send a product.

The suspension seat post was supplied with the necessary mounting material for attachment to the saddle. The suspension seat post was loosely bolted to the saddle mount so that it was immediately apparent how the components had to be joined together. The tools required for assembly, 5 mm and 6 mm Allen keys, were not supplied.
The assembly instructions are detailed and clearly written. The text is available in German, English, Spanish, Italian and French. The German version also includes an illustration for each assembly step. Thanks to the excellent instructions, even those with less technical skills can easily fit the suspension seat post.

These include the company name, the company address, a website and links to various social media platforms. The suspension seat post is made entirely of sturdy metal. According to the manufacturer, it is made of rust-free aluminum. The total height of the suspension seat post is 36.5 cm. In our case, we tested the suspension seatpost with an outer dimension of 27.2 mm. With a measured weight of 482 g, the suspension seatpost is even slightly lighter than the manufacturer’s specifications.
The lower, cylindrical part of the suspension seat post is painted matt black and has markings for adjusting the saddle height. A further marking indicates the minimum distance the lower section must be inserted into the bicycle frame. The spring preload can be adjusted via a hexagon socket on the underside of the cylinder. The lower section is 29 cm long.
The upper, sprung part of the suspension seat post is painted glossy black. The saddle is attached to it. The saddle holder consists of a two-part lower shell and an upper shell. The lower part of the lower shell is firmly attached to the suspension seat post. The upper side of the lower part and the underside of the upper part are provided with interlocking grooves. The two parts can be turned against each other to adjust the angle of the saddle . The grooves interlock at the set inclination and ensure that the inclination does not change even after high mileage. The saddle is suspended between the upper part of the lower shell and the upper shell. All parts are connected with two screws.
The simple, black design gives the suspension seat post a very high-quality look. The color can be easily combined with almost any bike paint job. The workmanship is excellent and all parts are very sturdy.

A women’s bike in the lower price range for our practical test . The front and rear wheels are unsprung, so the bike offers plenty of potential for the suspension seatpost. The suspension seat post must first be fitted.
The installation effort depends on the bike. If the seatpost is attached with a quick-release, the old seatpost can be removed in a few seconds and the suspension seatpost can be refitted just as quickly. Unfortunately, this is not the case with our test bike. We have to loosen a nut and need a suitable fork wrench to do so. As we measured the seat tube before ordering, the suspension seat post fits like a glove in the seat tube. Fitting the saddle also went smoothly with the help of the fitting instructions. However, we noticed that the saddle mount of the suspension seat post does not fit every saddle. We therefore recommend checking this before ordering and ordering a suitable saddle if necessary.
Our test rides took place on various surfaces, including asphalt, cobblestones, gravel and forest paths. It is noticeable that short bumps in particular are noticeably cushioned as long as the rider supports their weight on the saddle. The ride becomes more comfortable and pleasant. The suspension seat post is therefore a real improvement, especially on longer rides on poor roads. Due to its design, the suspension seat post has no influence on the bicycle frame, as this remains unsprung. The unevenness of the ground can still be felt on the handlebars . By adjusting the preload, the firmness can be adapted to the individual weight, making the suspension seatpost suitable for both particularly light and heavy riders.
In our practical test, the stability of the suspension seatpost was also noticeable. The sprung part of the seatpost sits stably and is guided precisely in the seat tube. The saddle remains firmly attached to the frame and the suspension does not have a negative effect on the grip on the saddle. There were also no disturbing noises in the practical test.
All in all, we can recommend the suspension seat post primarily for comfort-oriented cyclists who want a more comfortable ride while seated. Both short and longer bike rides are noticeably more comfortable and can be enjoyed even more.

On the Amazon platform, consumers rate the product with an average of 4.5 stars. One common complaint is that the suspension seatpost is too hard and hardly offers any suspension. In our practical test, however, we were satisfied. Many customers praise the easy assembly and the riding comfort. We were also able to confirm in our practical test that fitting is easy on many bikes and that riding comfort is noticeably improved.
Prices of up to € 170 are charged on the Internet for equivalent products. Very inexpensive products are available from as little as € 15.79. With a price of € 69.95, the Spring suspension seatpost from Aaron is currently in the middle price segment. The price ratio is reasonable for the quality and scope of services you get.
