With the 4-piece damask knife set, the manufacturer Wakoli offers the ideal basic equipment for every kitchen. Thanks to the four different knives for different purposes, the customer receives the right knife for every cut in everyday kitchen use.
However, the product not only impresses with its flexibility but also with its quality. Extremely sharp blades and very pleasant and comfortable handling emphasise an overall practical, well thought-out and elegant knife set. The high-quality packaging also makes the product ideal as a gift for first-time cooks or amateur chefs looking for a reliable tool suitable for everyday use.
The only point of criticism from our point of view is cleaning by hand, as the knife can be damaged in the dishwasher – a small limitation for a product that is worth recommending overall.

The damask knife set with a total of four knives of different sizes is shipped by the manufacturer Wakoli in a robust cardboard box. In addition to various instructions for use and care, the knives themselves and details about the manufacturer are printed on the box.
Inside is another box, which stands out with its overall high-quality and elegant design. It contains the four knives in precisely fitting foam recesses. Small plastic clips on the tips of the knives and a foam cover also ensure that they are not damaged during transport. A small bag with desiccant also provides protection against moisture.
Overall, the manufacturer offers a high level of product protection and high-quality packaging that is even suitable as gift packaging.
The enclosed instructions for use are written in German and English and include care and usage instructions as well as instructions for resharpening the knives.
The first impression is therefore very good and raises high expectations of the product itself.

The Damascus knives from Wakoli impress with their high-quality workmanship from the very first touch. Even on closer inspection, no visual defects can be detected and the appearance is appealing and elegant.
This first impression is also confirmed with regard to the stability of the product. The knives are not only well made but also relatively heavy, which ensures that the handle sits well and balanced in the hand. The blades remain dimensionally stable even when subjected to moderate lateral loads, although such loads are not recommended during use as they can have a negative impact on durability.
The only thing we criticise the manufacturer for is sustainability. Unfortunately, no further details are given about the production of the item or other endeavours by the company. Only the high-quality materials and the resulting long service life of the item speak in favour of a certain sustainability.

In our practical test, the Damascus knife set from the Wakoli brand was able to confirm the manufacturer’s first impression and advertising promises with a very good overall result. Different types of food such as meat, fruit and vegetables were sliced with the knives intended for this purpose in order to test various aspects and features of the product.
For all four blades, we were able to achieve a consistent, clean and, above all, reproducible slicing result . The 17cm long Santoku knife, which can also be seen as the universal solution for the knife set, deserves special mention. The smaller knives shone particularly well when peeling or making more delicate cutting patterns in general.
During the practical test, we found the handling to be pleasant and comfortable. Despite longer periods of use and repeated use over longer periods of time, we did not notice any limitations. Only under the influence of a lot of moisture did the handle tend to be a little slippery. Nevertheless, use was possible without any restrictions.
This is mainly due to the excellent balance of the knives. Thanks to the high-quality and rather heavy handle, the knife sits securely in the hand and allows relaxed working without putting excessive strain on the wrists or arms.
Thanks to the increased comfort, the extremely sharp blades and the very good balance, even very fine or delicate cutting patterns can be carried out repeatedly and precisely. In our test, for example, we cut wafer-thin tomato slices or tiny onion cubes.
Subsequent cleaning is relatively easy with warm water and, if necessary, washing-up liquid. However, the manufacturer points out that cleaning should be carried out immediately after use . In addition, the knives must not be soaked or put in the dishwasher, which restricts their use to a small extent. However, to protect the product, this is also common practice for comparable products and only slightly detracts from the overall excellent performance of the knife set.

On the Amazon platform, consumers rate the product with an average of 4.7 stars. In some cases, the knives are criticised for being too heavy . On the other hand, the elegant and functional design and the very sharp blades are emphasised positively. In our practical test, we were able to confirm that the elegant and functional design of the knives is well received by customers. We can only partially understand consumer criticism of the weight of the knives. In our opinion, this is a sign of quality and makes the knives easier to use.
Prices of up to €369.99 are charged on the Internet for equivalent products. Very affordable products are available from as little as €69.99 . The Damascus knife set from Wakoli is therefore currently in the lower price segment with a price of €139.90. For the quality and performance received, the price-performance ratio is very good.
