Test result preview
The VitaCut vegetable slicer from the manufacturer VITELAN achieved a good overall result in our test. The appealing and well thought-out design of the product is designed for a long service life and impresses with its high-quality workmanship and particular stability during use thanks to the vacuum suction cup integrated into the base.
Various cutting patterns can be produced reproducibly and precisely with the aid of the appliance. Assembly, disassembly and cleaning are simple and can be carried out intuitively. The only negative aspect we noticed in our test was a certain inefficiency, meaning that we can recommend the product primarily because of the quality of the result and less because of the potential time savings when cutting in the kitchen. Nonetheless, the product has a justified place as a practical everyday helper in the kitchen of any amateur chef with a taste for artistic dishes.
Advantages
- High stability
- Various patterns
- Intuitive structure
- Easy cleaning
Disadvantages
- Drum jams with some vegetables
- Price in the upper price segment

Packaging and contents
Here we take a closer look at packaging. Sustainability is becoming an increasingly important factor. In addition, adequate protection of the product must of course also be guaranteed. Are the contents of the packaging complete and does the manufacturer make it as easy as possible for me to use the product straight away?

The VitaCut vegetable slicer from the VITELAN brand arrives in a brown cardboard box. The packaging is very compact so that unnecessary packaging waste is avoided. Inside are the individual parts of the appliance. They are all packed in thin plastic bags to protect them. Further protection made of bubble wrap provides additional safety for the rotary drums.
The contents of the packaging are largely complete. However, one of the two products available to us only has one finger guard instead of the advertised five. An instruction manual is included with the product, which explains the structure of the device in a meaningful way thanks to a few graphics. Unfortunately, the pictures are of rather poor quality and there are spelling mistakes in the text.
Overall, however, the product appears to be carefully packaged and makes a good first impression.

After unpacking the VitaCut from VITELAN , the individual parts should be scrutinised more closely. Firstly, the product impresses with its flawless visual appearance. The bright green colour of the base and the transparent upper part offer an optimum combination of attractive and functional design. No compromises need to be made in terms of workmanship either. All components are free of defects and appear very stable. No material protrusions or unevenness can be detected. The stainless steel used also gives the product a certain elegance and creates a high-quality impression.
The only area where we see room for improvement in this product is in terms of sustainability. Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not provide any further information on production or possible certifications. More information would be desirable here. However, the general manufacturing quality speaks in favour of a long service life and thus offers at least a certain level of sustainability.

The practical test of the VitaCut from VITELAN generally gave us great pleasure. Firstly, the individual parts of the appliance had to be assembled. Thanks to the simple concept and the instructions for use, this was easy and, in principle, self-explanatory. On the positive side, the appliance is non-slip , as the base is attached to the worktop with the help of a vacuum suction cup. Unfortunately, we noticed the length of the rotary handle as a negative. This is a few centimetres too long, meaning that the appliance can only be mounted on the edge of the table or worktop, as it would otherwise be pulled across the surface with every turn.
The product also impressed in the practical test with its stable product design . The rotating mechanism also appears robust and more than adequate for the intended use.
For our test, we used different types of vegetables such as cucumber, kohlrabi, potatoes and onions as well as other products such as hard cheese to examine the different cutting patterns of the rotating drums and the included peeler. Our results were similar to the examples provided by the manufacturer. The only negative aspect was the blade of the peeler, which was strangely stiff and took some getting used to.
Even though the slicing results are of good to very good quality, the appliance is unfortunately somewhat inefficient and does not necessarily save time. With the two grater attachments, it is noticeable that there is often a large piece of vegetable left over that is not chopped by the grater, but instead wraps around the outside of the rotating drum, blocking the attachment. This must then be removed when feeding in further chopped material. Also, when finely grating onions, for example, a residual layer forms that clogs the grater so that the drum has to be cleaned after a few pieces of vegetable. However, at least the rotating handle has to be dismantled each time, which takes a certain amount of time.
Cleaning itself, on the other hand, is simple and we are impressed. As with the assembly, the appliance can be quickly and easily dismantled into its individual parts and cleaned under the tap. The plastic and stainless steel components are also suitable for standard dishwashers.
All in all, we therefore consider the product to be a practical everyday helper that shines because it can produce precise and reproducible cutting patterns. However, anyone hoping to save a lot of time when slicing in the kitchen may be disappointed, depending on the type of vegetable and the desired attachment.

At the time of testing, the product had not been listed on Amazon for long enough. Therefore, the existing reviews do not sufficiently reflect the advantages and disadvantages of the product, so this point is neglected in the evaluation.
Prices of up to €38.99 are charged on the Internet for equivalent products. Very affordable products are available from as little as €16.99 . The VitaCut vegetable slicer from VITELAN is therefore currently in the upper price segment with a price of €49.99. The price-performance ratio is sufficient for the quality and performance received.
