Manufacturer’s product description
Long hours in front of a screen are part of everyday life today—whether working on a computer, gaming, or streaming. This is often accompanied by symptoms such as dry eyes, headaches, or visual fatigue. The Gunnar Intercept gaming and computer glasses promise targeted relief. According to the manufacturer, their patented lens technology is designed to block up to 98% of harmful blue light (at 450 nm) as well as 100% of UV radiation, thereby providing lasting eye protection. The model combines functional technology with a stylish design. The large amber lenses filter artificial blue light from digital displays, while an additional anti-reflective coating reduces glare. According to the manufacturer, this can not only alleviate short-term discomfort such as headaches or dry eyes, but also reduce long-term risks associated with intensive screen use.
Our test aimed to determine whether the craftsmanship, comfort, and filtering performance live up to the high expectations—and whether the investment is actually worth it for frequent users of PCs, tablets, and smartphones.

The Gunnar Intercept comes in a sturdy cardboard box with a professional, high-quality design. The packaging is well-thought-out and reliably protects the product from damage during shipping. The glasses themselves are additionally stored in a microfiber storage pouch, while the temples are wrapped separately to prevent scratches.
A positive aspect is that the packaging is overall sustainable and minimalist. Excessive plastic elements are largely avoided, resulting in very little packaging waste. The package contents are complete: included are the glasses themselves as well as a microfiber pouch that can also be used as a cleaning cloth.
There is no traditional instruction manual included—which is not an issue, however, as the product is completely self-explanatory. All important information regarding the model, lens type, and specifications is printed on the packaging.
Overall, the Gunnar Intercept makes a very positive impression upon unboxing: high-quality presentation, sensible protection of the components, and an overall professional brand image. At first glance, the product already looks like a high-quality premium accessory for everyday digital life.

The first time you put them on, the Gunnar Intercept impresses with its elegant and understated design. The frame is finished in matte black, while the manufacturer’s name and model number are subtly printed in silver. The slightly amber-colored lenses provide a stylish contrast and give the glasses a distinctive look.
The build quality is top-notch. The hinges feel sturdy and high-quality, opening and closing without any play or creaking. There are no visible manufacturing defects, rough edges, or material flaws. The frame feels robust without being overly heavy—on the contrary, the glasses are pleasantly lightweight.
The large lenses are evenly framed and show no optical distortions. While the manufacturer provides no specific information on sustainability, the durable construction and reusability at least indirectly suggest a sustainable product concept.
All in all, the Gunnar Intercept conveys stability, comfort, and high-quality craftsmanship right from the first moment—glasses that impress both functionally and visually.

In practical testing, the Gunnar Intercept delivered a very impressive performance—especially during longer screen sessions. They are extremely comfortable to wear: the glasses sit comfortably on the nose without causing pressure points. Even after several hours at the computer or gaming, they remained comfortable.
The AmberMax lenses noticeably reduce eye strain. After just a short adjustment period, it becomes apparent that glare is minimized and contrast is slightly enhanced. The amber tint takes some getting used to at first, but it helps relieve eye strain. Especially during evening use, there was less eye fatigue and a more pleasant visual experience.
The build quality also held up in everyday use: The frame proved durable, and the hinges remained stable and wobble-free. The lenses showed no defects and had an even tint with no coating flaws.
Cleaning the glasses is straightforward. Fingerprints and dust can be easily removed with a standard eyeglass cleaner or glass cleaner.
Overall, the Gunnar Intercept leaves a very high-quality impression. It combines a robust design with effective blue light filter technology and high comfort—a highly recommended solution for anyone who spends many hours a day in front of digital screens.
