The draught excluder from Happy Animals made a good impression in our test. As a true all-rounder , the product not only scores points for preventing draughts, but also for keeping out light, dust and insects. However, noises are not insulated. When the door is opened, a quiet grinding noise can be heard, which was not found to be disturbing. The foam rollers glide effortlessly across the floor and retain their shape. The possibility of machine washing guarantees use even after soiling. The draught excluder is easy to fit and can be individually cut to size, but is not suitable for rooms with raised door thresholds. There are also defects in the workmanship of the product, particularly in the area of the end seam and the elastic band.
Advantages
✅ Stops draughts
✅ Perfect fit for standardized door width
Can be individually adjusted
✅ Cover is washable
Disadvantages
❌ partly unclean processing
❌ defective elastic band

ℹ️ Here we take a closer look at packaging. Sustainability is becoming an increasingly important factor. In addition, adequate protection of the product must of course also be ensured.

The draught excluder from Happy Animals arrived for our test in the typical Amazon shipping box. This was undamaged on arrival and could be easily opened by removing the adhesive strip. Inside the product box, the draught excluder was wrapped in plastic film. This packaging method ensures that the product is optimally protected from external influences and shipped hygienically. Product protection was therefore fully guaranteed and the draught excluder was delivered in perfect condition .
The packaging is partially recyclable. The plastic film, on the other hand, cannot be recycled. Notwithstanding this, the presentation of the product makes a very good impression.
After unpacking

A German information sheet was also enclosed with the most important key points. The manufacturer’s contact information was also included on the small letter. However, a customer hotline and email address are missing. Nevertheless, this is a good way to send a product.
The first time in your hand
Product processing and appearance
ℹ️ Before we start the practical test, we take a close look at the product processing. How high quality are the materials used? Is the look and feel satisfactory?
Criterion | Remark | Score achieved* |
---|---|---|
Visual appearance | High-quality foam rollers, inadequate cover | 60 points |
Processing | Seams partly unclean, elastic band not properly fixed | 30 points |
Stability | Stable | 70 points |
Sustainability of the product | No information on sustainability, but machine washable | 60 points |
Total | 55 points |
*The maximum score is 100 points
First of all, it should be mentioned that the draught excluder makes a solid visual impression. The material used appears to be of high quality, but we noticed that the seams were not finished properly. The work on the side of the elastic band in particular was inadequate, leaving threads protruding. In addition, one side of the elastic was not properly attached to the cover. The foam rollers give way under pressure, but still retain their shape. Overall, the product has a rather simple design that integrates well into any room.
Happy Animals has also thought about sustainability, as the draught excluder can be washed and can therefore be used again after soiling.
This is what our practical test showed
Does the manufacturer keep its advertising promises?
ℹ️ Our practical test is the most relevant and therefore the most important. Here, the product has to undergo a wide range of criteria and tests. We check the functions and product promises of the test article.
Criterion | Remark | Score achieved* |
---|---|---|
Functionality | Prevents air flow | 100 points |
Noise level | Slight grinding noise, no noise reduction | 75 points |
Individualization | Can be cut to size | 95 points |
Fit | Perfect fit for standard doors, not suitable for door thresholds | 90 points |
Position | Fixed by elastic band, foam partially slips out of holder | 75 points |
Total | 87 points |
*The maximum score is 100 points
Before we could start testing, the foam rollshad to be inserted into the cover andcut to the correct size. We recommend measuring the door and adjusting the individual parts, as this makes it easier to cut to size. The product can then be slid under the door quickly and easily . The product is not suitable for rooms with raised door thresholds . Thanks to its double-insulated design, the draught excluder keeps the heat inside the room and prevents draughts from outside. It also keeps out light, dust and insects. We were unable to detect any noise insulation . When the door is opened, a quiet grinding noise can be heard, which did not bother us any further in the test. The elastic band on our tested model was inadequately attached, but the draught excluder remained in position even without an additional bracket. Only the foam rollers slipped easily out of the cover after prolonged use.
Price/performance ratio
and ratings from consumers
ℹ️ Finally, we look at how the product compares to the competition. Can it keep up with the competition in terms of price and quality? Would we generally recommend buying it? We also examine consumer ratings and check whether the critical and positive reviews are actually justified.
Criterion | Remark | Score achieved* |
---|---|---|
Price / performance ratio | Very good | 95 points |
Rating cut | Not rated, as there are still too few customer reviews | |
Total | 95 points |
*The maximum score is 100 points
Prices of up to €80 are charged on the Internet for equivalent products. Very inexpensive products, on the other hand, are available for as little as €10. The draught excluder from Happy Animals is therefore in the lower price segment with a current price of €13.90. Consequently, the price ratio is very good for the quality and scope of services you get.
