Nano adhesive tape in the test 2023

In our test, the nano adhesive tape from Baurix made a very good impression overall. The adhesive tape is supplied in one piece, wound into a roll. It is comprehensively packaged, although some elements of the packaging could have been omitted. The adhesive tape was convincing in the practical test. The adhesive tape can be used to easily attach objects to surfaces such as walls, glass, plastic, metal and wood and remove them again without leaving any residue . Even after repeated use, the nano adhesive tape still has a high but reduced holding power. Caution is only required when removing the tape, as otherwise it will spring back and stick to itself, rendering it unusable.

We have looked at and tested the product in detail in a practical test. In the following, we take a closer look at the features and impressions. The product is subjected to our test procedure from the packaging, materials and quality to the range of functions and handling.

ℹ️ Here we take a closer look at packaging. Sustainability is becoming an increasingly important factor. In addition, adequate protection of the product must of course also be ensured.

The nano adhesive tape from Baurix arrived together with other products in a single shipping box. The shipping box was compact and the individual products had no room to slide around. The shipping box contained the product packaging made of printed cardboard. The product packaging was slightly torn on the back, but this did not affect the contents. The shipping box and product box were easy to open without tools.
The product box contains the nano adhesive tape, which is wound on a white plastic ring. The two flat sides of this roll are covered with a transparent plastic film. There is also a layer of film on the adhesive tape, which covers the outer surface of the roll and separates the individual layers of adhesive tape from each other. There is also a very thin, white plastic lid on both sides of the roll. The entire construction is again shrink-wrapped in a transparent plastic film. The extensive packaging material provides excellent protection for the product against soiling. In our opinion, however, fewer layers of packaging would have been sufficient.

ℹ️ Most people’s first impression after unpacking is immediately memorable. Are the contents of the package complete and does the manufacturer make it as easy as possible for me to use the product straight away?

The product consists of a roll of adhesive tape containing the three meter length of adhesive tape in one piece. The instructions for use are printed on the back of the product packaging in German. It is written very concisely but clearly and explains the correct procedure for applying and removing the adhesive tape. There is also a list of surfaces on the side of the product packaging on which the adhesive tape can and cannot be used.
Contact information can be found on the side and back of the product packaging. It includes company name, address, telephone number, Whatsapp contact and e-mail address.

ℹ️ Before we start the practical test, we take a close look at the product processing. How high quality are the materials used? Is the look and feel satisfactory?

The nano adhesive tape is 30 mm wide and 2 mm thick, as described by the manufacturer. It is a double-sided adhesive tape. This means that both sides of the tape have an adhesive surface. The material is transparent and the surface is glossy. The structure of the tape is elastic and soft. The edges and surfaces of the tape are even and have no processing defects. The individual layers of the tape lie neatly on top of each other, and the separating film between the layers also fits perfectly.
The tape can be easily stretched in length. It becomes narrower and thinner in the process. After stretching, the tape contracts again, but does not return to its original shape.
The two white plastic lids on the sides of the roll protrude beyond the adhesive tape. They are very unstable and can be bent easily.
The sustainability of the product ensures that it can be reused. While conventional adhesive tape becomes unusable after a single use, the nano adhesive tape can be reused.

ℹ️ Our practical test is the most relevant and therefore the most important. Here, the product has to undergo a wide range of criteria and tests. We check the functions and product promises of the test article.

In our practical test, we first used the adhesive tape to attach a 50 g wireless light switch to the wall. Our test wall was painted woodchip wallpaper. To do this, we cut off a piece of the adhesive tape about 6 cm long. To do this, the tape must first be removed from the roll. This can be done easily, but not without touching the underside of the tape, which has no protective film, with your fingertips. In fact, fingerprints can be seen at these points. Cutting through the adhesive tape with scissors works perfectly. We stick the cut piece onto a smooth section of the back of the light switch, where it adheres directly. Now remove the protective film from the top of the adhesive tape and press the light switch onto the wall. The light switch is firmly attached to the wall. There is no noticeable difference to a screw connection.
Next, we test the attachment of the light switch to other surfaces. To do this, the light switch is removed again. As recommended in the instructions, the light switch is heated with a hairdryer before being removed. With a little patience and feeling, the light switch can be completely removed from the wall without peeling paint or adhesive residue remaining on the wall. The adhesive tape is stretched considerably when it is removed. If the last section comes off, the adhesive tape may spring back and stick to itself. This makes it unusable. However, this can be avoided if care is taken when removing the tape. It should also be borne in mind that the adhesive tape will no longer take on its original shape due to the strong stretching. However, this has no effect on its functionality.
We repeat this procedure on surfaces made of glass, polished metal, smooth plastic and sanded wood. The light switch holds particularly well on glass, metal and plastic. Only wood shows a lower adhesive force. However, this is still more than sufficient to attach the light switch. Removal is particularly easy here. It should be noted that we use the same section of adhesive tape for all surfaces. The adhesive tape can therefore also be reused without any problems.
In a final test, we try to determine the maximum holding force of the adhesive tape. To do this, we attach a force measuring device with a 3 cm wide and 2 cm long piece of the nano adhesive tape to a vertical, smooth plastic surface. The force is applied at a distance of 5 cm parallel to the surface and thus corresponds to an object about 10 cm high, which is attached to the wall. In the first test, the force measuring device only releases at a force of over 30 N, which corresponds to the weight of a 3 kg mass. Even after five repetitions with the same section of adhesive tape, the force measuring device only releases at over 20 N. Accordingly, under good conditions, objects weighing 1 kg can be attached to walls with the nano adhesive tape – per centimeter of adhesive tape and even when reused. Overall, the adhesive tape was therefore convincing in the practical test.

ℹ️ Finally, we look at how the product compares to the competition. Can it keep up with the competition in terms of price and quality? Would we generally recommend buying it? We also examine consumer ratings and check whether the critical and positive reviews are actually justified.

On the Amazon platform, consumers have given the product an average rating of 4.4 stars. The handling of the adhesive tape is often criticized. We were particularly able to understand this when removing it, which also required patience in our test. Many customers like the high adhesive strength on smooth and dry surfaces, which we can absolutely confirm.

Prices of up to €13.99 are charged on the Internet for equivalent products. Very inexpensive products are available for as little as €4.99. The nano adhesive tape from Baurix is currently in the middle price segment with a price of €7.49. The price ratio is reasonable for the quality and scope of services that you receive.
