The Liquid Glass Nano Sealing Set from Five Elements made a very good impression in our test. The product is a set for sealing surfaces to make them water-repellent and therefore less susceptible to soiling. The set not only contains the sealant itself, but also extensive accessories including a pre-cleaner to prepare the surfaces for sealing. Our test shows that water really does bead up better on the sealed surfaces. The surfaces are also easier to clean than before sealing, as dirt adheres less strongly. Unfortunately, the test also showed that the paintwork on one of our test objects was attacked by either the pre-cleaner or the sealer.
Advantages
✅ Extensive range of preparation equipment
✅ Can also be used by non-professionals
✅ Water runs off better thanks to sealing
✅ Easier cleaning of sealed surfaces
✅ Coating not visible to the eye
Disadvantages
❌ Attacks the paintwork of a test object

Total | 100 points |
*The maximum score is 100 points
The Liquid Glass Nano Sealing Set from Five Elements was delivered in a classic shipping box. The shipping box was larger than the set and the product packaging had room to slip. The remaining space in the shipping box was therefore filled with recycled paper filling material. The nano sealing set including accessories was inside the product packaging. Both packages were undamaged and in perfect condition. Both the shipping carton and the product packaging were easy to open without tools.
The product packaging was an almost square, flat cardboard box in a simple black and white design. It contained the spray bottles with pre-cleaner and sealant, instructions for use and cleaning accessories consisting of wipes and disposable gloves. The wipes and gloves were neatly folded to allow for compact product packaging. Overall, the set is well protected in the packaging and no unnecessary packaging material was used.

The two spray bottles are made of white plastic. The design of the label corresponds to that of the product carton. The distinction between pre-cleaner and sealer is made by the lettering on the label with a green background. The back of the label contains hazard and safety information. This warns in particular of the flammability of the liquids and of eye irritation in the event of eye contact. A pump sprayer is screwed onto the top of both bottles. This allows the liquids to be sprayed evenly. A transparent plastic protective cap is fitted over the pump atomiser to prevent the pump atomiser from being pressed accidentally. 100 ml of the pre-cleaner and 50 ml of the sealer are available. According to the manufacturer, this is enough to seal 10 m².
The two microfibre cloths are fundamentally different. The first cloth is relatively large at 30 cm by 30 cm, dark blue, woven from fabric fibres and has a stitched edge. Individual fibres stick out at the corners of the cloth; the workmanship could be better here. According to the manufacturer, this cloth is intended for pre-cleaning and polishing.
The second cloth is used to apply the sealant. At 10 cm by 10 cm, it is significantly smaller than the first microfibre cloth. It is also significantly thinner and pressed and punched instead of woven. As a result, the edge is not sewn, but has right-angled serrations due to the punched shape. The colour of the cloth is yellow.
The disposable drying cloths are made of white plastic. They measure approx. 12 cm by 30 cm and are thin but double-layered. Five pieces are joined together by predetermined breaking points. The protective gloves are commercially available disposable rubber gloves in black colour.
Apart from the corners of the dark blue microfibre cloth, all the components in the test make a high-quality impression and are well made. Although the large number of cleaning cloths supplied is not directly sustainable, it is understandable given the high cleaning requirements. In addition, the dark blue microfibre cloth in particular can be used again after use. Ideally, the resulting surface coating saves more cleaning agent than is used to create the coating.

Does the manufacturer keep its advertising promises?
ℹ️ Our practical test is the most relevant and therefore the most important. Here, the product has to undergo a wide range of criteria and tests. We check the functions and product promises of the test article.

For our practical test, we use two household objects and a comparison surface. The first object is a metal mixer tap for a bathroom sink with a chrome-plated surface. We hope that the coating will reduce the build-up of limescale stains and other soiling. The second object is a plastic organic waste bin. We seal the inside of this so that less residue and deposits remain in the waste bin after emptying. The comparison surface is a black painted metal sheet.
When coating, we adhere exactly to the specifications in the instructions for use. The objects are also cleaned thoroughly. Even before we start the cleaning procedure described in the instructions for use, we clean the tap and the waste bin with standard household products. Applying the pre-cleaner and the sealant is easy thanks to the atomisation mechanism of the spray bottles. As the pre-cleaner has a strong chemical odour, we recommend carrying out this step in a well-ventilated area. With the thin, yellow microfibre cloth, the sealant can also be applied well to very rounded and angular objects such as the tap. Thanks to the ventilation in our test laboratory, the odour of the pre-cleaner is no longer perceptible after half an hour.
After the sealant has dried, there is no visible coating on the tap and it feels the same as usual. The water rolls off the surface well, especially on steeply inclined and sloping surfaces. However, water remains on horizontal surfaces in particular when the tap is in use due to the lack of inclination. The formation of limescale deposits can therefore not be completely prevented. However, when cleaning the mixer tap, it can be seen that the deposits now adhere less strongly to the tap and can be easily wiped off.
The coating on the waste bin is also invisible to the naked eye. Nevertheless, the coating proves to be advantageous here too. Less residue remains on the inside of the bin after emptying. The residue can be easily rinsed out with water. Previously, this required wiping with kitchen paper.
We divide the reference surface into two equal segments. We cover one segment during the coating process so that it remains uncoated. It is important to check in advance whether the surface to be treated with the sealer is alcohol-resistant. Unfortunately, this information is not included in the instructions supplied. Even though non-alcohol-resistant paintwork is very unusual, we also used such a surface to test the sealer. Here, the black paint on the sheet metal was attacked by the pre-cleaner or the sealer and then appeared blotchy and partially faded, especially in comparison to the untreated part of the surface.
The lotus effect of the sealant, on the other hand, can be demonstrated particularly well on the comparison surface, as a direct comparison can be made between the sealed and unsealed surface. If water is applied to the inclined surfaces, it runs off much faster on the sealed surface than on the unsealed surface. There is also an effect in the horizontal plane: while the water wets the untreated section over a large area, it contracts on the sealed surface and remains on a much smaller section. The nano-sealing therefore delivers what it promises.
Price/performance ratio
and ratings from consumers
ℹ️ Finally, we look at how the product compares to the competition. Can it keep up with the competition in terms of price and quality? Would we generally recommend buying it? We also analyse consumer reviews and check whether the critical and positive reviews are actually justified.
Criterion | Remark | Score achieved* |
---|---|---|
Price / performance ratio | Very good quality in the mid-price segment | 80 points |
Rating cut | Not rated, as there are still too few customer reviews | |

Prices of up to €64.99 are charged online for equivalent products, with most products costing around €20. Very inexpensive products are available from as little as €9.90. With a price of €21.99, the Liquid Glass Nano Sealant from Five Elements is currently in the middle price segment. The price ratio is reasonable for the quality and scope of services you get.
