The SKIBRÖK ski jacket from Nebulus made a very good overall impression in our test. For our test, we received the jacket for men in Malibu blue and in size M. We received the women’s version in the orange shade Coralle and size S. It has a variety of useful functions: The warm-keeping insulation, the water-repellent exterior and the zippers ensure a warm interior. Several pockets on the inside and outside allow you to store numerous items. A detachable hood and elasticated waistband and hood also ensure a high degree of flexibility. The material quality and workmanship are equally impressive.

We have looked at and tested the product in detail in a practical test. In the following, we take a closer look at the features and impressions. The product is subjected to our test procedure from the packaging, materials and quality to the range of functions and handling.

In our case, the SKIBRÖK ski jacket from Nebulus was delivered together with other products in a sturdy shipping box. The shipping box was undamaged and could be easily opened with a knife or scissors. The shipping box was also optimally sized, as it was filled to the top. This protects the environment: not only is the amount of material required for the shipping box minimized, but the small space required by the package also ensures better utilization of the transport vehicles. The product packaging inside the box included the SKIBRÖK ski jacket. The product packaging consists of a transparent plastic bag in which the SKIBRÖK ski jacket was packed. The film is tear-resistant and not stretchable. A Nebulus logo is printed on the front of the packaging. There is also a sticker with a barcode and the product name and size of the jacket. There are warnings on the back that the bag poses a choking hazard. The information is available in four languages, including German and English. The bag has an opening at the top, which is sealed with an adhesive strip on the film. The adhesive strip is reusable. If the jacket is to be returned, the bag can be resealed with the existing adhesive strip. There is another layer of thin paper between the individual layers of the folded jacket to prevent the fabric of the ski jacket from rubbing together during transportation. The SKIBRÖK ski jacket is very well protected from damage and soiling by the cardboard box and the plastic bag.

As you would expect, the SKIBRÖK ski jacket does not require any additional accessories and is delivered without them. There is a cardboard disc the size of a beer mat on the label, which is printed on both sides in high gloss with the Nebulus logo, which can also be found on the product packaging.
There are no instructions for use, but they are not required. Washing instructions can be found on a label on the inside of the jacket, where this is illustrated with the familiar symbols. There is also information on the material composition of the SKIBRÖK ski jacket, the size and the product name.

For our practical test, we received the SKIBRÖK ski jacket in malibu blue for men and coral orange for women. The outside of the jacket is designed with black areas and decorated with various patches and lettering. The inside of the jacket is black.
The SKIBRÖK ski jacket not only impresses with its attractive design, but also with its extensive functions. It has a large number of pockets both on the inside and outside. On the outside, there are two belly pockets, a breast pocket and a small pocket on the left forearm. There is one pocket on the inside of the jacket, which can be closed with a Velcro fastener.
All outer pockets can be securely closed with zippers. The zipper pullers are fitted with black pendants, making them easy to operate even when wearing gloves.
The jacket is equipped with a thick inner lining . A Velcro fastener at the end of the sleeves allows further adjustment options. The width of the hem can also be adjusted using an elastic band . The same applies to the hood. A high collar and a detachable hood with a zipper complete the design of the jacket.
The outer fabric of the SKIBRÖK jacket is thick, non-stretch and tear-resistant and, according to the manufacturer, is made of polyamide, while the lining is made of polyester. The jacket’s seams are even and neatly finished. There are hardly any loose threads to be found. Apart from this, the jacket has no other manufacturing faults.
Overall, the SKIBRÖK ski jacket is a functional and attractively designed piece of clothing for skiing. The quality of the materials used, the workmanship and the versatile functions are impressive across the board.

The SKIBRÖK ski jacket is sold in various sizes between S and 3XL. The women’s version is available in sizes XS to L. For our test , we received the jacket in size M for men and size S for women. The men’s version in M fits our tester, who is 170 cm tall, very well and even offers room for a few extra centimetres. The women’s version also fits our 165 cm tester very well. The ski jacket fits comfortably on the body and is the right length so that it ends at the right height. On the inside, it offers plenty of space for additional layers of clothing.
The design of the collar is also striking. It is high and wide and offers enough space for a scarf underneath. This protects the neck from the cold, wind and snow.
The jacket sits very comfortably even after long periods of wear. The insulation keeps you really warm. The zipper can also be easily operated with gloves thanks to the pendant. The elasticated drawstring at the bottom of the jacket can be tightened for additional protection against the cold. The adjustment mechanism is released with a button on a clip, and the elastic can then be tightened or loosened as required. When the elastic is tightened, the penetration of cold air from below is effectively prevented, even during dynamic movement.
Unfortunately, the ski jacket does not have an integrated snow guard. A snow skirt is an important function in a ski jacket, especially for people who ski or snowboard actively.
In our test, the large number of pockets proved to be very useful. The pocket on the forearm in particular is ideal for storing a ski pass . This means that you only need to hold your arm in the direction of the sensor, even if you have a readout device at the lift entrance with a short range. However, the inside pockets do not have a zipper, only a Velcro fastener, so there is a risk of something getting lost from the pockets.
The hood is generously sized. The opening on the front can be tightened with an elastic band if required. A positive feature is that even the hood is lined . The inside of the hood is made from a soft fabric, which is also partly used inside the jacket, and feels pleasant against the skin. The hood can be easily removed from the jacket and reattached using the zipper.
A Velcro fastener at the end of the sleeves allows further adjustment options. Unfortunately, the Velcro strap on the SKIBRÖK jacket has an unpleasant feature: The strap is made of rubber and has rubber studs on the underside that connect to the fleece strap when closed. However, these rubber studs are rough and the edge of the elastic band has sharp edges. If the strap is not fastened exactly straight or is positioned crookedly on the fleece strap, the edge and the rough area are unpleasantly noticeable on the wrist. Unfortunately, this reduces the wearing comfort of the jacket.
Ideally, a ski jacket should be water-repellent . That’s why we test the jacket by spraying the surface with water. This is where the smooth surface can show its advantages: it proves to be extremely water-repellent. The water rolls off immediately and falls to the ground. The surface of the jacket cannot be wetted with water and does not absorb water. This keeps the inside pleasantly dry.
In the last part of our practical test, we wash the ski jacket according to the manufacturer’s instructions. For the “SKIBRÖK” jacket, this means an easy-care wash cycle at 30 °C without drying and ironing, which corresponds to the usual specifications for comparable garments. Washing at 60 °C, as would be recommended after sporting activities or heavy soiling, for example, is unfortunately not possible. After washing, the jacket smells of the detergent used, but otherwise there is no noticeable difference. The jacket survives the washing process without damage or fading.
All in all, the SKIBRÖK ski jacket impressed us in our practical test. It is comfortable, keeps you very warm, offers a very high level of functionality, is also highly water-repellent and can withstand washing without any problems. It is therefore not only suitable as a ski and snowboard jacket, but also as a winter jacket in general.
