We took a close look at and tested the product in a practical test. In the following, we take a closer look at the features and impressions. From the packaging, materials and quality to the range of functions and handling, the product is subjected to our test procedure.
To give you a quick overview, we work with a points system. The maximum achievable score per area is 100 points. The pool cushion makes a very good impression as soon as it is unpacked. It is delivered in a classic shipping box, which is very sturdy and protects the product. The pool cushion is also packed in a large plastic bag. This ensures that the cushion is not damaged during transport and storage. In this case, the product was fully protected and the product was in good condition. Unfortunately, the packaging is not fully recyclable.
The box contains the pool cushion measuring 2×4 metres, the two-chamber Boston safety valve, as well as 2 repair kits and 1 cord to securely fasten the product.
The first impression is very good, as neither the product nor the packaging is damaged.
The instructions for use are clearly written in German and English and are supplemented by clear illustrations.

The pool cushion from PoolBear is made of extra strong PVC with double stitching, which feels very stiff and firm. Using the supplied cord , the pool cushion can be securely positioned in the centre of the pool using the silicone fastening eyelets on the product itself. The Boston safety valve with two chambers can be inflated with a standard air pump. However, it is better to use an electric pump.
Unfortunately, there is no information on sustainability, but the materials used appear to be of high quality, which is why we expect a long service life .

During our practical test of the PoolBear pool cushion, we found many positive features that make the product recommendable for the end user.
Handling proved to be very simple and user-friendly. The product is self-explanatory and can be installed effortlessly, which is further supported by the enclosed instructions.
Inflation is easy thanks to the Boston safety valve with 2-chamber closure, although the use of an electric air pump is recommended.
An outstanding feature of the pool cushion is its stability. In the stability test, it proved to be robust and resistant, which is due to the high-quality workmanship and hard-wearing material .
In addition, the cushion is equipped with silicone fastening eyelets , which ensure secure and durable fastening without the risk of rust or damage to the fastening holes.
Another advantage of the pool cushion is its universal size, which allows it to be optimally adapted to different pool sizes (200-300cm x 400-500cm). This enables a wide range of applications and flexibility for the end user. It can also be used on a correspondingly round pool, with the restriction that some ice may form on the edge.
The combination of easy handling and high-quality workmanship makes the pool cushion a convincing choice for winterising pools.
The durability of the pool cushion over the winter and over the years in practice would have to be determined in a longer test period.
