Test result preview
The board game “Save the Penguin” from the manufacturer all Kids United gave us and our younger testers a lot of pleasure. The game shines with a simple concept that is suitable for children aged 3 and up. At the same time, not only skill but also a little tactic and the necessary bit of luck are required to win this game.
The generally child-friendly and fun setting rounds off a successful product overall. The game was criticised in our test for minor visual flaws in the painting of the components, but these do not detract from the fun of the game. Overall, the manufacturer offers a fun pastime for a relatively low price.
Advantages

Packaging and contents
Here we take a closer look at packaging. Sustainability is becoming an increasingly important factor. In addition, adequate protection of the product must of course also be guaranteed. Are the contents of the packaging complete and does the manufacturer make it as easy as possible for me to use the product straight away?

The product arrives in a sturdy and colourfully painted cardboard box. This is sufficient for product protection and at the same time presents the game principle and the most important rules in an understandable way thanks to pictures and writing.
Inside are the game frame, two hammers and a bag with the game pieces and feet. There is also an instruction manual in German and English, which summarises the rules in a few points.
Unfortunately, the plastic bags that cannot be resealed are a negative feature. A storage bag would be desirable instead. However, the contents of the pack are complete. In fact, there is even one more tile in the pack than is necessary for the game.

After unpacking the individual parts, we take a closer look at them.
Overall, the product makes a good impression. The colours are vibrantand blue and white to match the ice cream theme. Unfortunately, the penguin figure in particular is characterised by inaccurate painting and protruding edges. However, these do not affect the use of the game and are only a minor blemish on an overall nicely designed game board. Contrary to expectations, the game pieces, frame and feet do not show any defects, meaning that the workmanship is clean. The game pieces fit into the frame without any problems.
In terms of their intended use, these parts are stable and sufficiently robust. The parts can withstand the expected load without any problems.
Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not provide any further information on the sustainability of the product. However, the game can be used several times without any problems. Thanks to the plastic construction, cleaning is also straightforward, so that even when used by small children, a long service life can be assumed.

For our practical test, we use “Save the Penguin” from all Kids United to evaluate the product quality and general playing experience.
When setting up the game, we first notice that all components are present and intact. The manufacturer even supplies an extra piece that can be put to one side as a reserve. Assembling the board is relatively quick and works best when the game is upside down. The pieces are surprisingly smooth-running and fit into the grid provided without any problems. However, this is probably still a little too difficult for three-year-olds, so an adult should always be on hand to help .
The rules are very easy to follow thanks to the illustrated instruction manual and step-by-step instructions, and the illustrated turntable makes them understandable even for small children.
We rate the overall playing experience as very good. The rounds are very entertaining, lasting just a few minutes, and are therefore particularly suitable for short play sessions. The intuitive gameplay is designed for young children, who develop a great deal of ambition in our test and want to keep the little penguin on the ice for as long as possible.
The replay value is definitely there. It should be mentioned at this point that the game experience naturally becomes somewhat monotonous after many rounds due to its low complexity. However, as the game does not claim to fill several hours of play time a day, this is rather negligible.
When dismantling the game board in our practical test, we found that storing the game pieces posed a certain problem. Although the box can be closed, a cloth bag for the game pieces would make sense from an organisational point of view and would probably also help to ensure that no pieces get lost.
Overall, however, the product impresses us with a child-friendly setting, a fun game idea and a simple set of rules that is particularly suitable for young children.

On the Amazon platform, consumers rate the product with an average of 4.3 stars. In some cases, there are complaints that the game is difficult to set up for children aged 3 and over. On the other hand, the price-performance ratio and the simple rules of the game are emphasised positively. In our practical test, we were able to confirm that it is a simple and quick game. However, some of the criticism from consumers is justified if no adults are present and/or playing.
Prices of up to €29.99 are charged on the Internet for equivalent products. Very cheap products are available for as little as €4.99 .“Save the Penguin” from all Kids United® is therefore currently in the lower price segment with a price of €12.99. For the quality and performance received, the price-performance ratio is very good.
