Test result preview
The BetterBone dog toy is an innovative chew bone specially developed for dogs of all breeds who prefer a robust but not too hard toy. The medium density formula combines durability with softness, making the product ideal for moderate chewing activities. The natural, splinter-free beef flavour entices dogs to chew extensively, while the completely nylon-free material made from cellulose and vegetable oil ensures maximum safety. The ergonomic design with nubs and grooves also supports dental health. The sustainable production of the toy, which is climate-neutral and manufactured in the EU, should be emphasised as a positive aspect. A small downer: although the toy is robust, it is only suitable for dogs with strong teeth. Weaker jaws may struggle with the firm consistency.
Advantages
- Shatterproof chew bone with beef flavour
- Completely nylon-free and free of harmful substances
- Ergonomic design for dental health
- Sustainable and climate-neutral production
Disadvantages
- Not suitable for dogs with weaker teeth
- Only as a supplement; not a meal replacement

Packaging and contents
Here we take a closer look at packaging. Sustainability is becoming an increasingly important factor. In addition, adequate protection of the product must of course also be guaranteed. Are the contents of the packaging complete and does the manufacturer make it as easy as possible for me to use the product straight away?

The manufacturer’s promises were verified in our test. In terms of safety , the BetterBone dog toy is convincing across the board: there are no sharp edges or loose parts that could pose a danger. The tests carried out have shown that the material has no potential weak points, even under intensive use.
The bite resistance is impressive. Even after simulating intensive chewing activities, the bone shows only minimal surface scratches that do not impair either safety or functionality. At the same time, the chew bone is harder than conventional nylon alternatives, which requires dogs with strong teeth.
In further tests, the material impressed with its absolute resistance to saliva. Even after repeated contact with water or saliva, the structure remained unchanged – there was no swelling or deformation. The odour test also showed excellent results: The bone is completely odourless both immediately after unpacking and after prolonged use.
The BetterBone dog toy is a sustainable, safe and durable choice for eager-to-buy dogs. The splinter-free finish, non-toxic material and well thought-out design in particular make it a recommended option for pet owners who value quality and environmental friendliness. One small drawback is its limited suitability for dogs with weaker teeth.
A clear purchase recommendation for discerning dogs and owners.
