The cut protection gloves PE from LauterSchutz® have proven to be a versatile solution for safe working in the kitchen, garden or workshop. According to the manufacturer, the innovative material mix of ultra-high molecular weight PE, glass fibre and spandex offers class C cut protection in accordance with the new CE conformity assessment and therefore ensures a good level of safety for everyday work with sharp tools. The gloves impress with their elasticated fit, which adapts well to the hand and offers a high level of comfort. According to the manufacturer, the food-safe finish is particularly practical, making them ideal for food preparation, and they are also available in children’s sizes to suit younger users. They are available in four different sizes with and without knobs. However, with extremely sharp or serrated blades, puncturescan occur if the blade hits the glove vertically. The protection is therefore good for most everyday applications as long as there is no risk of vertical punctures. Overall, the PE cut protection gloves impressed with their well thought-out combination of comfort, versatility and safety for everyday cutting work.

In the practical test, the cut protection gloves performed solidly overall. The fit and wearing comfort were impressive, as the elasticated material allowed them to adapt well to the shape of the hand . The fit was comfortable even during prolonged use and there were no pressure points. In terms of cut resistance, the gloves offered very reliable protection for most everyday applications, e.g. in the kitchen or garden. During very intensive use, especially when working with extremely sharp blades, punctures occurred when the blade hit the glove vertically, which are pointed out and warned against in the instructions for use. Caution is therefore advised for certain cutting tasks. In contrast, the tear resistance of the seams was very good in the test: no tears or damage occurred even under heavy use. The grip also proved to be stable, so that they slipped only slightly even when wet and the objects could be held securely. Another advantage was the ease of care: after machine washing at 30 degrees Celsius, the gloves were easy to clean and looked almost like new again. Overall, the cut protection gloves proved to be a reliable and effective solution for everyday use. The glove is less suitable for dangerous cutting work where there is a risk of vertical stab injuries.
