The Mutkind cabinet lock arrives in a sturdy cardboard box that does not generate unnecessary packaging waste. We particularly like the fact that no plastic has been used – a big plus for sustainability. The individual components are clearly arranged and well protected thanks to the well-designed cardboard dividers.
The set is complete: ten locks, ten small adhesive stickers with a lock symbol, two magnetic keys, two key holders, a small measuring stick, and a practical installation guide are included. All important product information is printed on the outside of the packaging, giving you an immediate overview.
Inside, there is a detailed, large-format, illustrated manual that explains the installation step by step—including different door configurations and special cases such as protruding edges or drawers. The manual is easy to understand and of a much higher quality than one would expect in this price range.
Overall, the product leaves a very positive impression: sustainable packaging, complete scope of delivery, and surprisingly professional instructions that make the installation process much easier.

At first touch, the Mutkind cabinet locks appear to be of high quality and robust, despite the lightweight plastic material. The surfaces are smooth, free of burrs or sharp edges, and the locking mechanism feels solid. The simple, understated design is deliberately restrained – perfect, as the locks are mounted on the inside and therefore remain invisible.
Both the locks and the key magnet holders show consistent manufacturing quality, with no visible flaws or instabilities. The stability of the plastic is particularly impressive, as it appears to be significantly more stable than many comparable models. The magnets themselves feel strong and immediately inspire confidence in their future functionality.
The measuring rod and installation aid supplied are sturdy enough to support the installation process multiple times. Although there is no information on the sustainability of the material, the durability and reusability of the components is clearly an advantage.
Overall, the set makes a very positive first impression: high-quality, sturdy, cleanly manufactured, and well-designed. The manufacturer focuses on safety—both in the choice of materials and in ease of use.

In practical use, the Mutkind cabinet lock performed well in all areas tested. Installation is very easy thanks to the included installation guide: clean the adhesive surfaces, align the lock, press firmly – done. The TESA adhesive adheres excellently to wood, MDF, and coated surfaces. Even after several days of intensive testing , the locks showed no signs of loosening, shifting, or detaching.
Operation is intuitive and self-explanatory. The magnetic key allows the doors to be opened effortlessly, without force or complicated maneuvers. Particularly practical: each lock has a small mechanism for deactivation, ideal when temporary security is not necessary – for example, when children are staying with their grandparents.
The solution performed particularly well in terms of safety: in several tests with simulated pulling and levering movements, the door could not be opened from the outside, even with considerable force. The locks remained stable, and manipulation by children is realistically impossible.
Removal was also easy: when heated with a hair dryer, the adhesive came away from the furniture cleanly. We cannot comment at this stage on any adhesive residue after months of use, but the initial tests went perfectly.
Overall, the system offers an impressive combination of safety, stability, and user-friendliness —reliable protection for households with small children.
