Manufacturer’s product description
An ergonomic office chair has become a standard piece of equipment in the home office or workplace, as prolonged sitting can quickly lead to back and neck problems. The Ergoreal ER-25W04 office chair aims to offer an ergonomic yet affordably priced solution. With an adjustable backrest (90–110°), fold-up armrests, and an adjustable lumbar support, the chair is designed to be customized to different body sizes and sitting positions.
The manufacturer markets the chair as a comfortable solution for extended periods of sitting, meetings, or focused work. Thanks to the foldable armrests, the chair can also be pushed under the desk to save space—a practical detail, especially in a home office. The chair is available in two colors (black and white) and is designed to blend visually into various work environments.
Our test was designed to determine whether the build quality, seating comfort, adjustability, and stability hold up in everyday use and whether the chair lives up to the manufacturer’s promises.

The Ergoreal office chair is delivered in a sturdy cardboard box that securely contains all individual parts. The protection of the components is very good—however, the packaging generates a relatively large amount of plastic and bubble wrap, as each individual part is packed separately. While this ensures safe transport, it results in a comparatively large amount of packaging waste from a sustainability perspective.
All parts arrived undamaged and complete. A particularly positive feature is that the screws are pre-sorted and labeled in their packaging. Additionally , multilingual, illustrated assembly instructions are included, along with a matching Allen wrench, so no additional tools are required.
A separate user manual is not necessary, as the use of an office chair is self-explanatory. The assembly instructions are clearly organized and guide you step by step through the assembly process.
Overall, the office chair makes a positive first impression: secure packaging, a complete set of components, and well-thought-out assembly instructions. Only the amount of packaging material could be reduced without compromising product protection.

Once assembled, the Ergoreal ER-25W04 presents itself as a modern office chair with a understated design. The chair is available in black or white and deliberately avoids bold colors or patterns. This makes it well-suited for classic office environments as well as for the home office.
The build quality makes a good overall impression. No damage, scratches, or material defects are visible. The fabric upholstery feels soft and comfortable, while the plastic and metal parts appear sturdy. The armrests also fold up smoothly and lock into place securely.
The backrest and seat appear sufficiently padded and sturdily constructed. All moving parts can be adjusted with minimal effort. Overall, the chair gives a solid impression in terms of material quality and workmanship.
The manufacturer does not provide any information regarding the sustainability of production or materials. However, since this is a durable piece of furniture that can be used for many years, a certain degree of sustainability can at least be inferred from its long-term use. Further information on the origin of the materials would nevertheless be desirable.
Overall, the chair makes a solid, stable, and functional impression upon first contact.

In practical testing, the Ergoreal office chair was easy to assemble. Thanks to the illustrated step-by-step instructions and the pre-sorted screws, assembly was straightforward even without any prior DIY experience. Overall, assembly took about 30 minutes, including unpacking and preparation. All screws fit perfectly and were easy to tighten.
The seating comfort is good overall. The padding is comfortable, and even after several hours of sitting, no pressure points or discomfort arose. However, a true long-term test spanning several months was not possible within the scope of this review. The foldable armrests are particularly practical, as they allow the chair to be slid under the desk or provide more freedom of movement while working.
The adjustment options are extensive: height adjustment, foldable armrests, an adjustable recline angle between 90° and 110°, and an adjustable lumbar support allow for individual customization to the user. The levers and mechanisms feel sturdy and function reliably.
The casters are made of plastic with a rubber coating, making them quieter than solid hard-plastic casters. However, fully rubberized casters would have been even quieter. The rolling performance on various floor surfaces is still good.
The weight capacity matches the manufacturer’s specifications of up to 140 kilograms. At maximum weight, however, leaning back to 110° feels slightly less stable, though it remains within expected limits. Overall, the chair meets the manufacturer’s specifications and is well-suited for home offices and everyday office use.
