The Zen Plugs from the Appraith brand are earplugs for noise reduction. According to the manufacturer, noise can be reduced by up to 32 decibels. The earplugs are easy to insert and remove thanks to a fin. The fin can also be used to adjust the position of the earplugs until optimum wearing comfort is guaranteed. The practical test confirmed that the earplugs fit comfortably and firmly in the ear . The earplugs were tested on traffic noise and a significant reduction was observed. A positive aspect to emphasize is theversatile use of the product: the Zen plugs can be used at concerts, parties, while sleeping or at work, for example. The material of the earplugs feels high-quality – they are made of special silicone, which optimally prevents itching or annoying sensations. Depending on individual preference, the earplugs are available in gray, white and black.

The Appraith earplugs were delivered in a small shipping box. The box is well adapted to the size of the product, so no unnecessary packaging waste was generated. The product is wrapped in plastic foil and well protected, which could be replaced by a more sustainable alternative. Important information about the earplugs can be found on the outside of the small product box. Instructions for use are not included, but are not required as the product is self-explanatory. In addition to the earplugs, a silver ring is also included, which allows the sturdy capsule in which the earplugs are stored to be securely attached to a key ring, for example.

When you pick up the product for the first time, you notice the high-quality workmanship of the individual components. The small, cylindrical storage element is just the right size to store the earplugs inside. It is opened and closed with a high-quality screw cap. As soon as the lid is screwed shut, it is absolutely secure so that the earplugs cannot get lost too easily. The silicone earplugs feel soft and comfortable, so they are probably very comfortable to wear. The supplied fastening ring, which can be used to attach the product to a key ring, for example, rounds off the overall well-designed product perfectly.

ZenPlug from the Appraith brand was tested in our practical test with traffic noise. Ambient noise is reduced to a minimum, so that everyday noise can be pleasantly reduced, especially in city apartments. Depending on how firmly the earplugs are anchored in the ear, the noise reduction can also be adjusted slightly so that they are also suitable for other areas of everyday life. It can be assumed that the product is versatile and can also be used for volume reduction at concerts or as noise reduction when working in noisy environments. The soft silicone makes them comfortable to wear. The illustrated tips on how to insert the product correctly into the ear, which are printed on one side of the product box, are also a positive feature. The fin, which is attached to the outer end of the product, makes it easy to change the position of the earplugs in the ear until an optimum wearing comfort is achieved. The product packaging states that the ZenPlugs should be cleaned with water before wearing. Additional information on whether the products can be cleaned with water alone or with an additional cleaning product would be desirable.
