The lunch boxes from 2friends arrive in minimalist packaging. The three lunch boxes are in a cardboard box and are held together with a sturdy film. Special product protection does not appear to be necessary for this product. We therefore consider the packaging to be practical and sufficient. At the same time, the film could be replaced by a more sustainable alternative .
We received the package contents complete and undamaged. A small information card from the manufacturer is enclosed. However, the most important information, such as the choice of material, temperature resistance and symbols for microwave and dishwasher suitability, are mechanically stamped into the bases of the tins. Due to the self-explanatory handling, no further instructions for use are required.

Even on closer inspection, the product from 2friends makes a very good impression. The tins are visually in perfect condition. All three colours look vibrant and lively. The transparent material also allows you to see inside.
No processing faults or other defects can be recognised on the lunch boxes. The two halves lie perfectly on top of each other when the tin is opened and closed. There are no material protrusions or sharp edges.
Overall, the product appears quite stable and robust. The partitions inside are somewhat more flexible due to the thinner material, but this seems appropriate for the intended use. However, as is usual with products of this type, the upper and lower parts of these lunch boxes are held together by a thin and flexible strip . It is not possible to assess a long service life within the scope of our test.
Due to the material used(polypropylene, BPA-free), which is 100% recyclable , and the high-quality workmanship, a long service life in terms of sustainability can be assumed. Explicit information from the manufacturer on production or possible compensation measures would also be desirable.

In our practical test, the lunch boxes from 2friends delivered what the manufacturer promises. Only the scratch resistance of the material left something to be desired. The use of metal cutlery (fork, knife) with light pressure left visible marks.
Nevertheless, the overall quality of the material is excellent. The lunch box and the lid reliably withstand drops, knocks and mechanical pressure without damage. The closure is also pleasant and easy to use and appears secure and robust in our test.
In our odour test, we can initially confirm that the cans are free from chemical or unpleasant odours before cleaning. In the actual taste and odour transfer test, the product is equally convincing. After appropriate cleaning, no residue from the previous contents of the can can be found.
Throughout the test, we found the product to be very practical and suitable for everyday use. This is also reflected in the fact that it can be used in the dishwasher and microwave. The lunch box can also be used at temperatures between -20°C and 100°C without hesitation, so it is even suitable for the freezer and for slightly warming food .
We consider a more flexible division of the compartment sizes to be a desirable improvement. In our example, about 70% of an apple, cut into small pieces, fitted into the compartment provided. A flexible plug-in system would allow the size to be adjusted as required.
Overall, however, the manufacturer offers a functional, high-quality and aesthetic product that almost completely fulfils the advertising promises and expectations.
