We put the Penerl running vest through its paces in a practical test and it impressed us with its excellent fit, high level of comfort and well thought-out features. The adjustable hip and chest straps allowed for individual adjustment, so that the vest fitted securely and comfortably. However, the vest might be a little too wide for very slim runners. During intense movements, the vest wobbled slightly when it was filled with a water bottle. Without water bottles, however, there was no movement, so the vest was very stable and comfortable in this condition. The moisture management worked very well: the breathable material reliably wicked away sweat so that the vest remained pleasantly dry even during long, intensive runs. The pockets offered sufficient storage space and were easy to access, especially the waterproof cell phone pocket reliably protected the smartphone. The water bottle holder held the water bottles securely, although the slight movement affected the stability of the vest during fast movements. The fasteners were stable and easy to operate even with sweaty hands. The zippers ran smoothly and reliably without catching. Due to its low weight, the vest was comfortable to wear even on longer distances and offered a balanced weight distribution. Only the bottle holder could be improved slightly to further increase stability. Overall, the Penerl running vest offers a successful combination of comfort, functionality and lightness.
